The service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Davis officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

Martinsburg officials are encouraging city residents to “take pride in your community” Saturday as part of the city's annual spring cleanup and anti-littering program. Free dumping of unwanted items and debris will be accepted at the city's recycling building along East Stephen Street from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday as part of the 23rd annual cleanup effort. The city will accept up to four tires per resident, along with refrigerators, air conditioning units that have been cleared of freon and all other appliances at the recycling center.

An 18-year-old woman is accused of embezzling more than $1,000 in cash and merchandise from the Bon-Ton store at Martinsburg Mall, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records. Samantha Bowie, of 107 Autumn Leaf Drive in Martinsburg, was arraigned Friday on one felony count of embezzlement by Magistrate Betty Jo Hersh, according to court documents. Martinsburg Police Patrol officer C.M. Richmond said in a complaint that Bowie provided a written statement admitting she took $600 in cash and $435.12 in merchandise, according to court documents.

Floyd E. Webber, 102, of Martinsburg, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Countryside Assisted Living. Born March 26, 1911, in Knoxville, Md., he was the son of the late Franklin Page Webber and Nellie Lepold Webber. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church and was a foreman for the Blair Limestone Co. He is survived by his two sons, Donald Webber and wife, Nancy, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Carroll K. Webber and wife, Deborah, of Martinsburg; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Two people were injured and 26 residents were displaced when a fire tore through an apartment building early Thursday at the Fairlawn Gardens apartment complex in Martinsburg, W.Va., a fire official said. Martinsburg Fire Capt. Greg Hoover said the occupant of the apartment where the fire started and another person who jumped from a balcony to escape the fire were taken to Berkeley Medical Center to be treated for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. “The roof was burned off about half the building,” Hoover said.

A Berkeley County judge ruled Thursday that a man accused of shooting another man and an 8-year-old girl at Martinsburg's Fourth of July celebration last year could be tried May 28 on one felony count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Remaining counts of attempted murder, malicious assault, wanton endangerment and fleeing from a law enforcement officer against Daniel Lee Herbert, 28, were severed from the firearm charge by Circuit Judge John C. Yoder during a pretrial hearing.
