Long & Foster, Hagerstown, and all of Long & Foster's more than 200 sales offices throughout the firm's seven-state mid-Atlantic region, and headquarters staff in Fairfax, Va., participated in the company's eighth annual companywide Community Service Day. The Hagerstown office volunteered at Beverly Nursing Home and at CASA. Thousands of Long & Foster sales associates and employees went into their local neighborhoods to help give something back to the communities the company serves, according to a prepared release from the company.

More than 600 sales associates of Long & Foster's Silver Team attending the daylong event, which featured speakers who focused on sales strategies. On June 7, Long & Foster's Hagerstown office participated in an annual company-wide Community Service Day. The Hagerstown office volunteered at Beverly Health Care of Hagerstown, 750 Dual Highway. The agents and staff shared conversation and pets with the residents, followed by an hour of vocal music provided by Ben Fields, an agent with the Hagerstown office. Thousands of Long & Foster sales associates and employees rolled up their sleeves and took their talents into their local neighborhoods.

laurae@herald-mail.com Nine years ago, Cynthia Moler watched as her business, an indoor tennis club, literally collapsed in a lightning storm. The blower that kept the fabric cover inflated over the four tennis courts at the Hagerstown Tennis Club stopped working. Then the backup generator failed. "My bubble actually was bursting," said Moler, who can joke about that night now. At the time, it was a devastating blow for Moler, who was dealing with personal issues as a newly single woman trying to make it on her own. But Moler, 51, was determined to turn around her situation.
