An officer installation ceremony will be followed by a group discussion.

Student athletic physicals RANSON, W.Va. - Athletic physicals for Jefferson County athletes will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Harpers Ferry Family Medicine. The physicals are offered to students from Jefferson High School, Charles Town Middle School, Harpers Ferry Middle School and Shepherdstown Middle School. Students must arrive with their proper documentation, and have their forms completed and signed prior to arrival. For information, students should contact their athletic directors at their school.

Church to offer stroke, bone density screenings Residents living in and around the Hagerstown community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke through Life Line Screening at Harvest Baptist Church, 951 Woodland Way on Jan. 21. Appointments begin at 9 a.m. Strokes are ranked as the third leading killer in the world, and the second among women. Preventive screenings can reduce stroke risk. Screenings involve the use of ultrasound technology to scan for potential health problems.
