Lebanon Valley College's Inquiry 2013 coincided with the Council for Undergraduate Research's celebration of student research and achievement from April 14 to 20. Jared A. Hamilton of Shippensburg, Pa., was among the 185 student participants. Hamilton, a senior business administration major, presented “Comparing a German and an American SUV - The case of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler and 2012 Mercedes G550.” Hamilton is a graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. Andrew D. Suprock of Mount Airy, Md., also participated.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Daniel A. Snyder of Hagerstown was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Shepherd University. He is working toward a Bachelor of Arts in communications, new media. He graduated from St. Maria Goretti High School in 2012. ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lauren C. O'Boyle, a sophomore health science major at Lebanon Valley College, is spending the spring semester in Italy as part of the college's study abroad program. O'Boyle is a graduate of Saint John's Catholic Prep in Frederick, Md. ANNVILLE, Pa . -   Local students were honored at Lebanon Valley College's annual spring awards and recognition ceremony.

BOONSBORO - The Washington County Homemakers held a reception Aug. 14 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro for this year's 24 scholarship recipients and their parents. The Homemakers conducted its seventh annual scholarship auction in the spring which provided funds for these scholarships. Scholarships to Hagerstown Community College have been awarded to Shane Ganley, Roger Grimm, Brandon Mauck, Kayla Reynolds and Ryan Stottlemyer. Additional scholarship recipients are Jarrett Myers (the University of Maryland)

The Maugansville Ruritan Club met May 21 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the club and to award annual scholarships to four local high school seniors. Tom Ingram introduced the four scholarship recipients, each of whom was given a $1,000 scholarship. The recipients are: · Carlie Colella, North Hagerstown High School, who plans to attend Hood College as a business major. She is the daughter of Massimo and Linda Colella. · Allison Litten, of North Hagerstown High School, who plans to major in music at Shepherd University.

APRIL 4, 1936-JAN. 16, 2009 CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - David Milton Weekley, 72, of Chambersburg, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va. Born April 4, 1936, in Meadville, Pa., he was the son of the late Cecil and Gladys Burnett Weekley. He was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College, where he received a degree in English. He was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, working in Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Martinsburg, where he retired from the Martinsburg Computing Center.

Busta-Peck-Warrenfeltz Audrey Warrenfeltz of Funkstown and Christopher Busta-Peck of Cleveland, Ohio, were married Saturday, May 20, 2006, at The Cleveland Cultural Gardens in Cleveland. The bride is the daughter of Judy and Barry Warrenfeltz of Funkstown. The bridegroom is the son of William Busta and Joan Tomkins of Cleveland and William Johnston and Cynthia Peck of Lakewood, Ohio. The bride is a 1997 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and received a bachelor of arts in graphic design from Peace College in Raleigh, N.C., and a bachelor of arts in anthropology from University of Maryland, College Park.

Wedding Announcements for 2/3 Barnhart-Cheney Jantia Renee Cheney and Christopher Allen Barnhart were married Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Kingsley United Methodist Church in Cumberland, Md. The bride is the daughter of Jack and Starr Cheney of Cumberland. The bridegroom is the son of Leroy and Ida Barnhart of Hancock. The bride is a 1994 graduate of Fort Hill High School and a 1998 graduate of Hood College in Frederick, Md., with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.

Scott Shacreaw begins his fourth year as Waynesboro head football coach and is hoping his program is ready to make an upward turn. It's been 21 years since the Indians have finished a season above the .500 mark. Their last winning campaign was in 1992, when they went 9-2. The Indians come off a 3-7 season looking for better fortunes beginning Friday night at East Pennsboro. Senior Nathan Toney (6-foot, 195 pounds) - who was recently named one of the team's captains - will be the quarterback in a backfield that needs a replacement for Johnnie Adgers, now at Valley Forge Military Academy.

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Maegan Clearwood of Middletown, Md., recently participated in Washington College's annual senior reading sponsored by the Rose O'Neill Literary House. Clearwood is an English and drama double major with a creative writing minor who graduated from Middletown High School. She has worked on the editorial staff of the Washington College Elm newspaper for four years. This past year, she served as its editor-in-chief. Clearwood also is a member of the Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows, and Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.
