The Hagerstown Suns scored six runs on two hits, five walks and four wild pitches in the fourth inning on the way to a 9-4 victory over the Lake County Captains on Friday night at Municipal Stadium. Tyler Moore led off the fourth with a double, J.R. Higley walked and Brett Newsome hit an RBI double. The rest of the runs scored on a bases-loaded walk and the four wild pitches -- one coming on a swinging third strike by Chris Curran that would have ended the inning with just the one run. Instead, Curran reached first and the inning continued.

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Steven Souza doubled in Chris Curran in the top of the ninth inning to help the Hagerstown Suns to a 4-2 victory over the Lakewood BlueClaws on Wednesday. With the score tied at 2, Curran entered the game as a pinch runner for Michael Guerrero, who singled to lead off the ninth. Curran stole second base in between two strikeouts, then scored on Souza's double to center. Souza then scored on Stephen Lombardozzi's single. Clayton Dill (1-0) got the win in relief for the Suns, throwing two hitless innings and striking out four.

EASTLAKE, Ohio -- Mark Thompson and Chris Nash homered to lead the Lake County Captains to a 5-2 win Tuesday and a two-game sweep of the Hagerstown Suns. Paul Demny took the loss for the Suns, dropping his record to 1-6 on the year. The Suns (29-32) started strong, scoring twice in the top of the first off Lake County starter Trey Haley. Jose Lozada led off the game with a walk, advanced to second on a single by Steve Lombardozzi and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Moore.

The Hagerstown Suns dropped their sixth straight game Tuesday night, a 5-3 loss to the Lake County Captains before a crowd of 680 at Municipal Stadium. Lake County scored three runs with two outs in the first inning off Suns starter Brad Peacock. Nate Recknagel had a run-scoring single and Jeremie Tice added a two-run home run. Recknagel homered in the fourth to give the Captains a 4-0 lead. The Suns (5-11) put single runs on the board in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to cut the deficit to 4-3. Sandy Leon, Steve Souza and Ronnie Labrie had RBI hits for Hagerstown.

HAGERSTOWN - Players from the Federal Little League 11-12 All-Star and Hagerstown PONY League 14-year-old All-Star teams got a taste of the pros Sunday when they were invited to warm up and practice with the Hagerstown Suns at Hagerstown Municipal Stadium. "The Suns' manager thought it'd be nice to have 'em hang out and see what it is like to be a professional player," said Joel Pagliaro, director of promotions for the Hagerstown Suns. The teams were also honored at a pregame ceremony before the Suns' Sunday night game against the Lake County Captains.

Pinch runner Valerio Heredia scored from third on a passed ball with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Hagertown Suns beat the Lake County Captains 3-2 on Saturday night at Municipal Stadium. Jake Rogers led off with a single in the 10th against reliever Garrison Campfield (7-4) and was replaced by Heredia, who advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Bryan Miller. After a single by Mark Gildea put runners on the corners, Jose Lozada walked to load the bases.

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Richard Martinez homered off Hagerstown reliever Chris Lugo with two outs in the eighth inning, lifting the Lake County Captains to a 5-4 victory over the Suns on Wednesday night in the South Atlantic League. The home run finished off the Captains' three-game sweep of the Suns. All eight other runs came in the first four innings as Lake County and Hagers-town battled back and fourth. Doubles by Jose Lozada and Tim Pahuta gave the Suns a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, before the Captains tied it in the bottom half.

The first game of a scheduled two-day series between the Hagerstown Suns and Lakewood BlueClaws at Municipal Stadium was rained out Monday. The Suns - who lead the South Atlantic League's Northern Division second-half race at 8-3, will play a doubleheader against the BlueClaws (5-6) today beginning at noon. Hagerstown is coming off a two-game sweep of the Lake County Captains, and has won three straight.

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Aaron Seuss' two-run single was the big blow in Hagerstown's three-run fifth inning Sunday as the Suns finished the South Atlantic League first half with a 6-2 victory over the Lake County Captains. Michael Burgess hit a solo homer for Hagerstown (34-35), giving him 14 on the season. Roman Pena and Karexon Sanchez combined for nine RBIs as the Lake County Captains beat the Hagerstown Suns 15-2 at Municipal Stadium on Sunday. The Captains (37-25), who are in first place in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division, took three of four from the Suns (29-32) in the four-game series, outscoring Hagerstown 40-15. Lake County rallied for seven runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-0 lead. Pena and Sanchez each hit a three-run homer in the inning. Down 13-0, the Suns finally scored a run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Michael Burgess.
