O'Reilly as Chicken Little To the editor: Syndicated columnist Bill O'Reilly recently stated that the U.S. is "smack in the middle of WWIII. " Well, heh Bill, thanks for the update. I am going to place you second on my list, just behind Chicken Little, for accurate news reporting. I shouldn't be surprised. After all, this is the guy who said Saddam was a modern day Hitler. Well they both were thugs and they both had distinctive moustaches, but that's about where the similarities end. Hitler's Germany did take on much of the world for about four years; Saddam's Iraq took on ...ah Kuwait for awhile.

laurae@herald-mail.com GREENCASTLE, Pa. - With a husband in Kuwait and two little girls at home, Greencastle, Pa., resident Susan Hirneisen was a shoo-in for Friday's "Most Patriotic Family" contest. It didn't hurt that Meghan, 5, wore a picture of her father on a lanyard around her neck and both she and her sister, Lauren, 4, had red, white and blue beads in their blond hair. Meghan, 5, showed Greencastle Mayor Red Pensinger the picture and told him she talked to her father that morning.

waynesboro@herald-mail.com GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The number of families who placed photos of servicemen and servicewomen in the front window of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce has grown to five. The two newest photos are of Army Capt. Jeremy Hirneisen, 33, who is stationed in Kuwait, and 2nd Lt. Rachael M. Ott, 22, who is on temporary duty in Texas awaiting her permanent assignment. Hirneisen's wife, Susan, said her husband has been in Kuwait since April 2. He is in command of a transportation unit that delivers gasoline and fuel to U.S. forces.

andrews@herald-mail.com Travis Morgan, a plumber in the U.S. Air Force's 332nd Air Expeditionary Group, is due back from Kuwait in September. Until then, his wife, Catherine, is surrounding herself with family - his, hers and theirs. Travis and Catherine Morgan grew up in Boonsboro, but they've lived at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Mont., since he was stationed there about two years ago. When Travis' unit was deployed to Kuwait last month, Catherine decided to move back to Washington County with the couple's two children and three dogs.

U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jonathan Breehl was in a hospital in Kuwait on Friday, a day after shrapnel struck him while he was on patrol in Habbaniyah, Iraq, said his mother, Melissa Custer. A 2005 North Hagerstown High School graduate and wrestling standout, Breehl, 19, was stabilized and heavily sedated for pain Friday at a holding hospital in Kuwait. He will be transferred to a German hospital, where he will be evaluated, Custer said. Breehl, who joined the Marines last July, sustained injuries to his right wrist and left thigh when shrapnel from a remote-controlled improvised explosive device struck him Thursday morning in Habbaniyah, Custer said.
