Sharpsburg teachers choose Kendra Tolley Sharpsburg Elementary kindergarten teachers have chosen Kendra Tolley as Sharpsburg Elementary School's September Community Partnership for Families Character Counts! nominee. Kendra's teacher, Lisa Ritenour, nominated Kendra for modeling many of the pillars of Character Counts! Ritenour said that one pillar Kendra displays is caring, that Kendra is willing to help anyone who needs it. Ritenour said, "We recently had a new student join our class, and Kendra was very helpful in making this student feel welcome and helping her when she needed it. Kendra is also thoughtful and considerate.

KEEDYSVILLE - A Keedysville man died Monday evening when he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving on South Main Street in Keedysville, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department. William Menso, 50, of Keedysville, was pronounced dead at the scene following the 5 p.m. accident, deputies said. Menso's motorcycle hit a curb and a rock wall, according to deputies. Additional information was unavailable Monday evening.
