KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Kannapolis Intimidators scored three unearned runs off Hagerstown starter Bradley Meyers in the fourth inning and held on to beat the Suns 3-2 on Sunday. A fielding error by Suns third baseman Trevor Lawhorn with the bases loaded and one out led to all three of Kannapolis' runs. Hagerstown took a 1-0 lead in the third, as Trevor Lawhorn doubled and scored on a single by Michael Martinez. The Suns cut their deficit to 3-2 in the fifth. Jonathan Castro singled, went to third on a single by Robert Jacobsen and scored on a sacrifice fly from Francisco Plasencia.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Kannapolis Intimidators scored three times in the third inning, more than enough to outlast the Hagerstown Suns 4-1 on Tuesday night in the South Atlantic League. Andrew Salvo led off the bottom of the third with a double to left and went to third on a wild pitch by Anythony Pannone (3-2). He scored on a Mike Morse single. Mike Spidale singled, and Chris Amador's butn single loaded the bases. Morse and Spidale both scored on a single by Scott McKee for a 3-0 lead.

One run in two games doesnt' win any games. The Kannapolis Intimidators held the Hagerstown Suns down on Thursday for a 5-1, 4-0 sweep of a doubleheader. The losses moved the Suns' losing streak to five games, one shy of a season high . Kannapolis starter Charlie Leesman (6-4) pitched a complete game in the opener, allowing five hits and an unearned run over seven innings. The Intimidators got two quick runs against Suns starter Brad Peacock (2-7) in the first inning, and doubled the lead in the third on a home run, triple, and passed ball.

The Kannapolis Intimidators used three singles -- al with two outs -- and two walks to score four runs in the 14th inning and notch a 6-2 victory over the Hagerstown Suns on Friday in the South Atlantic League. Suns reliever Kevin Light entered to start the inning and walked Andrew Garcia, who went to second on a scarifice bunt and third on a groundout. Jon Gilmore singled to drive in Garcia, John Curtis walked and Josh Phegley and Brandon Short hit singles to plate three more runs.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Steve Checksfield hit a grand slam to highlight a five-run fourth inning to lead the Lexington Legends to a 10-4 win Wednesday over the Hagerstown Suns in the South Atlantic League. Checksfield's shot to left field opened up what had been a 2-1 game. Justin Hawkins added an RBI single in the inning. Dayton Buller provided the majority of the pop for Hagerstown (11-14), driving in three runs with a single and a two-run homer, his first. Travis Ishikawa also hit his first home run of the season for the Suns, who play two more games in Lexington before returning home Saturday for a doubleheader against the Kannapolis Intimidators.

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Brandon Florence tripled leading off the seventh inning and scored on Tyler Von Schell's groundout as the Hagerstown Suns defeated the Augusta GreenJackets 4-3 on Wednesday. The Suns (28-34) got a solid effort from Anthony Pannone (9-8), who went seven innings, striking out two and walking one, and closer Julio Pavon, who allowed only a ninth-inning walk while going two innings for his seventh save. Derin McMains plated Hagerstown's first run with a groundout in the first inning.

MINOR LEAGUE The Hagerstown Suns and Kannapolis Intimidators had their South Atlantic League contest rained out Monday, and will play a doubleheader today beginning at 6 p.m. In the first game, Hagerstown's Glenn Woolard will make his first start of the season against Kannapolis' Brian Miller, also making his first start. In the nightcap, Merkin Valdez will take the mound for the Suns. Valdez allowed one run in six innings in his first start, a no-decision against Greensboro.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Keith Anderson and Bryan Carter had a hand in both Hagerstown runs Thursday as the Suns beat the Kannapolis Intimidators 2-1 in an afternoon matinee. Anderson led off the top of the third inning with a double and later came around to score on Carter's double. The Intimidators (26-29) tied the score in the bottom of the inning, Mike Morse doubled, went to third on Chris Amador's single and scored on an RBI groundout by Andrew Salvo. Anderson started the Suns' eighth-inning rally with a single.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Hagerstown Suns snapped a three-game losing streak Thursday with an unusual formula - the long ball. Hagerstown homered twice in the first inning en route to a 4-3 victory over the Kannapolis Intimidators. Tyler Von Schell, who hadn't homered since April 25, hit a three-run homer and, one out later, Julio Cordido homered giving Hagerstown a 4-0 lead. Francisco Liriano (2-2) was the benefactor. He went 6 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run while striking out eight.

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Hagerstown Suns loaded the bases with one out in the ninth inning Friday night, but the Kannapolis Intimidators turned a game-ending double play to escape with a 2-1 victory. Brad Hennessey (1-3) was a hard-luck loser for the Suns (7-7 South Atlantic League second half). After allowing Mike Christensen's RBI single in the first and Darren Ciraco's solo homer to center in the second, he settled down, going the entire way without allowing another run. Hagerstown pulled within a run in the fifth when Jason Columbus singled with one out off Kannapolis starter Brian Miller (7-5)
