A teenage boy was struck with a handgun during an armed robbery near the Hager House in City Park on Wednesday afternoon, according to a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman. Sgt. John Lehman of the Criminal Investigation Division said the robbery was not a random act. Lehman said the victim and at least two teenage boys involved knew each other. The victim was taken to Meritus Medical Center east of Hagerstown, where he was treated and released, Lehman said. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the victim, Lehman said.

HAGERSTOWN -- A Hagerstown woman was treated at Washington County Hospital on Sunday morning and released after being stabbed in the right leg, Hagerstown Police Sgt. John Lehman said. Police would not release the victim's identity. Robert William Bradley, 33, who is from Manhattan, N.Y., but was living at 47 Murph Ave. in Hagerstown, was charged with second-degree assault, as well as possession of crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, police said.

A man robbed CVS Pharmacy at 10 E. Wilson Blvd. Friday night, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release. The robbery was reported at 6:26 p.m., Sgt. John Lehman said. A man entered CVS and passed a note to pharmacists demanding narcotics, Lehman said. An undisclosed amount of narcotics was taken, Lehman said. No one was injured during the robbery, Lehman said. Police are seeking a white male who was wearing a red hooded jacket, dark-colored jeans and white sneakers when the robbery occurred, Lehman said.

A man being treated Sunday morning at Meritus Medical Center for a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound was involved in an incident in Hagerstown's West End, according to a news release from the Hagerstown Police Department. The man was not identified in the news release. Police were dispatched to the area of West Side Avenue and Church Street at 1:49 a.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired, police said. While police were investigating the call, 911 dispatchers were notified of a man who arrived at Meritus Medical Center with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

A person was stabbed Friday night in the parking lot of Sheetz at 700 N. Potomac St. in Hagerstown, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release. Hagerstown police officers were dispatched to Meritus Medical Center at 11:36 p.m., where the victim was taken shortly after the stabbing, Sgt. John Lehman said. The victim, whose name wasn't released, was in stable condition, Lehman said. Police are looking for a black male in connection with the stabbing, Lehman said.

The Hagerstown Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning robbery at Susquehanna Bank at 940 Frederick St. A male robbed the bank at 9:22 a.m., Hagerstown Police Sgt. John Lehman said in a news release. The male demanded money from one of the tellers and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, Lehman said. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured, he said. The man is described as white and between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build, Lehman said.

A Hagerstown Police Department spokesman said Sunday night that investigators were still trying to determine what led to the shooting of two men outside a bar in the West End of Hagerstown early Sunday. Investigators believed the disturbance occurred outside the bar at 5 Nottingham Road and involved only the shooter and the two victims, Sgt. John Lehman of the Criminal Investigation Division said. Nottingham Road is off Washington Street. The bar is close to the intersection of the streets.

The Hagerstown Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday afternoon at Dick's Market, Sgt. John Lehman said in a press release. The robbery happened about 3:20 p.m. at the market at 895 Salem Ave., Lehman said. A man entered the store with a handgun, demanding money, and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, then fled, Lehman said. No one was injured during the incident, he said. The robber was described as a tall black man with a slender build, wearing a blue and gray sweat suit and a blue ski mask, Lehman said.

A Hagerstown man was arrested Saturday night after a man was robbed at knifepoint outside The Columbia Bank on Wesel Boulevard, according to city police. Dennis Udo Wagner-Smith, 41, of 314 Daycotah Ave., was charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and theft, Hagerstown Police Sgt. John Lehman said in a news release. At about 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the bank branch at 1571 Wesel Boulevard for a reported armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a laceration to his hand, Lehman said.

Fire companies from West Virginia and Maryland were still on the scene late Thursday night of a house fire north of Shepherdstown. John Lehman, the homeowner at 3953 Shepherd Grade Road, said no one was home when the blaze started. Lehman said the home had recently been put on the market, and he and his family had lived there for about a year. As best he could determine while standing in the pouring rain, it looked like the fire started in a back corner of the house, Lehman said.

A Frederick, Md., man has been arrested and charged after an armed home invasion in east Hagerstown early Friday morning, the Hagerstown Police Department said. Terrance Warfield, 29, of Eisenhower Drive faces charges of armed robbery, assault, burglary, reckless endangerment and theft, Sgt. John Lehman said in a news release. Warfield was being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $300,000 bond, a jail spokesman said Friday afternoon. Shortly after 6 a.m., police were called to a home in the 1500 block of Violet Drive for an armed home invasion robbery.

A Hagerstown man was charged with first-degree murder in the death of a homeless man who was found Saturday with severe blunt-force trauma to his head, according to Hagerstown Police Department Sgt. John Lehman and a news release from the police department. Police know the identity of the homeless man, a 47-year-old man whose last known address was in Hagerstown, but were not releasing it Sunday because they had not been able to find his next of kin, Lehman said. David Allen Miller, 38, of 115 Elm St. in Hagerstown was charged with first-degree murder; first-degree assault - a felony; and second-degree assault - a misdemeanor, according to Lehman and the news release.

The AC&T gas station at 724 Frederick St. in Hagerstown, was robbed Wednesday night, the third reported robbery at the business in the last two weeks, according to a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman. A white male with dark clothing, a mask and gloves entered the station and demanded money, Sgt. John Lehman said. No weapon was displayed and the male left the station with an undisclosed amount of cash, Lehman said. The man was last seen heading toward railroad tracks behind the store and a police dog “picked up something” to track, Lehman said.

On Sunday morning, Pennsylvania State Police arrested a man for whom the Hagerstown Police Department issued an arrest warrant in the attempted armed robbery of Second Chance Bail Bonds on Friday, Hagerstown Police Sgt. John Lehman said. Devon Lee Frisby, 20, of 838 W. Washington St., Apartment 2F, in Hagerstown, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police from the Chambersburg barrack after state police received a tip, Lehman said. Frisby will be held at the Franklin County Jail until he can be extradited to Maryland, Lehman said.
