Police still were searching Thursday for a Maryland Correctional Training Center inmate who drove off from a work detail earlier this week. Raymous Little, 43, last was seen Monday at a Washington County Roads Department shop on National Pike at 1:35 p.m., according to Sgt. Dave Bowers of the Maryland State Police. Little escaped in a white, 1995 Chevrolet S-10 truck that was parking in the shop's lot, Bowers said. Troopers believe Little might be in the Baltimore area because he has family there, Bowers said Thursday afternoon.

A Washington County Detention Center inmate who failed to report to his work-release assignment Wednesday was found this morning in the area of Prospect and Church Streets, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said. Deputies found Daniel Ray Kenter, 19, at a home in Hagerstown. After several hours of surveillance, Kenter left the home in a vehicle. Hagerstown City Police stopped the vehicle. Kentner, 19, of 1317 Outer Drive in Hagerstown, was taken into custody without incident around 12:30 a.m., deputies said in a news release.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A Franklin County Jail inmate who didn't return from his work-release job on Wednesday was found later that day and jailed in Virginia. Jeremiah Lucas was placed in Franklin County Jail on Oct. 23, 2008, and was tentatively scheduled for released on May 4. He originally was incarcerated for a parole violation, but another county lodged a detainer on charges of simple assault and passing bad checks. Lucas was scheduled to return to the jail at 1 a.m. Wednesday from his job on Wayne Avenue.

A 49-year-old inmate was stabbed in the right shoulder at Roxbury Correctional Institution Tuesday night, a Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services said. A suspect has been identified and the weapon has been recovered, Mark Vernarelli said. Vernarelli said he did not know what type of weapon was used in the attack, which was reported about 8:30 p.m. Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue responded to the call at the prison on Roxbury Road south of Hagerstown.

CUMBERLAND, Md. -- A grand jury has indicted an inmate at the North Branch Correctional Institution in Allegany County, Md., on a charge of first-degree murder in the Dec. 30, 2009, death of his cellmate, Clarence Meyers, the office of Allegany County State's Attorney Michael O. Twigg said Tuesday. The Allegany County grand jury handed up the indictment of Christopher Robert White, 35, on Tuesday, the state's attorney's office said in an e-mail. He is charged in the indictment with the murder of Meyers, 39, who was found dead in his cell at the prison near Cumberland, Md., on Dec. 30, according to the Allegany County State's Attorney's Office.

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. -- Police were still looking for a prisoner who escaped Wednesday morning when a van transporting him from Kentucky to New Jersey stopped at a fast-food restaurant, West Virginia State Police said. Albert Voute, 34, fled on foot from the parking lot of the Burger King on W.Va. 901 in the Spring Mills area of Falling Waters and had not been located as of 5:30 p.m., Sgt. T.C. Kearns said in an updated release Wednesday afternoon. State troopers from Maryland and West Virginia, Sheriff's Office deputies and U.S. marshals were searching the area north of Exit 20 of Interstate 81 with the help of multiple K-9 units and a Maryland State Police helicopter, the release said.

Franklin county inmate escapes, then recaptured CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - An inmate serving time for escape scaled a 12-foot fence and fled from the Franklin County Prison Wednesday evening, Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg said. Shamir Naim Whiting, 22, of Chambersburg, was recaptured a short time after the 8:30 p.m. escape. Whiting was at the prison's annex on a work release detail at time of his 8:30 p.m. escape, state police said. A guard noticed an inmate climbing the fence, which did not have razor wire, and pursued Whiting to Interstate 81 before losing sight of him, police said.

Police have made an arrest in the deadly July 2011 fight between two inmates at Eastern Regional Jail near Martinsburg. Dewarren Bruce Jenkins, 25, of Oklahoma City, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Melvin Cox, 53, of Bunker Hill, W.Va.. He was arrested May 24 in Oklahoma, West Virginia State Police Sgt. J. D. Burkhart said. Officials said today that Jenkins has been returned to West Virginia and is being held at the Eastern Regional Jail. The Virginia Medical Examiner's office determined that Cox died of blunt force trauma, police said.

HAGERSTOWN -- Charges against a former Roxbury Correctional Institution inmate who allegedly assaulted a correctional officer at the prison south of Hagerstown were dropped Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court. Kenneth Davis, 42, had been charged with second-degree assault on a Division of Correction employee and reckless endangerment. Upon review, prosecutors decided to dismiss the case against Davis. Deputy State's Attorney Joseph Michael said Tuesday that Davis was involved in an altercation with staff, and that he later ended up in the hospital after a severe beating.
