A St. Thomas, Pa., man has been charged with sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy, Pennsylvania State Police said. Albert Raiber, 60, of St. Thomas, was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors, simple assault and false imprisonment, according to a state police news release. Troopers said the parents of the 12-year-old told state police in Chambersburg that Raiber had sexually assaulted the boy. The crimes were alleged to have occurred from Dec. 19-31 in a home.

chambersburg@herald-mail.com CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Faust Junior High School teacher accused of misconduct with a student was dismissed Tuesday evening following a dismissal hearing during a special meeting of the Chambersburg School Board. Tab Kurtz, 45, of 404 Landis Road, Hagerstown, did not attend the hearing, which was held behind closed doors during a special meeting of the board, according to board members. His dismissal came a day after the most serious charges against him - aggravated indecent assault and criminal attempt to commit aggravated indecent assault - were dismissed.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Mercersburg, Pa., man charged with sexual offenses against a 4-year-old girl has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 1 before Magisterial District Judge David E. Hawbaker. David W. Cooper, 30, of 114 S. Main St., is charged by Mercersburg police with three counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count each of indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor, according to court records. Cooper was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Franklin County Central Court, but Assistant District Attorney Bret Palmer asked that the hearing be rescheduled to Hawbaker's Mercersburg office on April 1. An agent with Children and Youth Services contacted the police about a report of sexual abuse of the girl on Jan. 25, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 20-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court to three to 10 years in state prison for having sex with a minor. Dale Wayne Phillips Jr., no fixed address, was sentenced on a charge of aggravated indecent assault by Judge John R. Walker. He pleaded guilty to the charge Feb. 20 in exchange for charges of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of a minor being dismissed, court records said.

chambersburg@herald-mail.com CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 58-year-old Fayetteville, Pa., man who sexually abused a 10-year-old girl multiple times last year was sentenced to a minimum of 71/2 years in state prison last week. David D. Neidigh, of 1245 Houser Road, was sentenced last Wednesday by Judge Carol Van Horn to 30 to 60 months in prison on each of three counts of indecent assault. She ordered Neidigh to undergo any sex offender treatment deemed necessary, have no unsupervised contact with minors, have no contact with the victim, undergo mandatory DNA testing and register with police under the requirements of Megan's Law. As part of a guilty plea agreement, Neidigh was not sentenced on one count of rape of a person younger than 13, six counts of aggravated indecent assault, four counts of indecent assault on a person younger than 13, and one count of corruption of minors, according to court records.

chambersburg@herald-mail.com CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man accused of partying with a 14-year-old girl in a borough motel room last November will spend at least 11 months in the county prison. Kevin High, 25, of 230 Ramsey Ave., previously pleaded no contest to one count of statutory sexual assault. Franklin County Court by Judge Carol Van Horn sentenced him Wednesday in to serve 11 to 23 months in Franklin County Prison. She also ordered him to serve 36 months on probation following his parole period, undergo any sex offender treatment deemed necessary and mandatory DNA testing.

William Charles Johnson, of 3436 Clayhill Road, will be listed in the March trial term, according to court records. He is charged with four counts of indecent assault, two counts of aggravated indecent assault, and one count each of attempted rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent exposure and corruption of minors, according to court records.

waynesboro@herald-mail.com William Charles Johnson, 72, was sentenced to up to 20 years in state prison Friday in Franklin County Court, according to Franklin County assistant district attorney Angela Krom. Presiding Judge John R. Walker sentenced Johnson, of 3486 Clayhill Road, to 7 years, 9 months to 20 years in prison for molesting two Waynesboro girls, Krom said. At a hearing before Friday's sentencing, Johnson was designated as a sexually violent predator, Krom said.

Lemasters man charged in relation to sex crimes CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Lemasters, Pa., man has been charged with various sexual crimes, including the rape of a young boy, Pennsylvania State Police said. The 35-year-old man is charged with rape, indecent assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, police said. The man is not being named to protect the identity of the victim. The man was arraigned by District Justice Gary Carter Thursday morning. He was in Franklin County Prison Thursday afternoon on $200,000.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Greencastle, Pa., man was ordered bound over for Franklin County Court following his preliminary hearing Tuesday before District Magistrate Gary Carter on charges of molesting two girls. Anthony David Ditch, 32, currently being held in Franklin County Jail, is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and other charges for incidents the Greencastle Police Department said occurred between January 2008 and January of this year. The girls are 6 and 4 years old, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
