CHAMBERBSURG, Pa. -- Juries were selected Monday in Franklin County Court for three men charged in unrelated rape cases. Sean Nolan Connor, 36, of 67 North Ave., Chambersburg, will be tried Oct. 6 on charges of rape of an unconscious victim, burglary, indecent assault and sexual assault in one case; and forcible rape, sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault in another. Conner will be tried before Judge John Walker, Assistant District Attorney Lauren Sulcove said.

chambersburg@herald-mail.com CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Two Franklin County men convicted of sexual assaults against minors have received the designation of sexually violent predator and will be listed as such for the rest of their lives under Pennsylvania's version of Megan's Law. Shawn Paul Lesher, 22, no fixed address, received the designation during a hearing before Judge Carol Van Horn earlier this year. On Wednesday, she sentenced Lesher to two to 10 years in state prison on a charge of aggravated indecent assault, a second-degree felony.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Philadelphia man who the Waynesboro Police Department said had sexual intercourse with a woman after drugging her has been sentenced to 11 1/2 to 23 months in Franklin County Jail. Kerien Abdul Smith, 29, had pleaded no contest in October to charges of delivery of a controlled substance and indecent assault on an unconscious person. In addition to the jail time, Judge Richard Walsh gave Smith an additional three years on probation. The incident occurred at a residence on Pratt Court on May 11, 2007, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A McConnellsburg man faces 102 charges, and two other men also were charged in connection with an investigation into the sexual assault of a girl spanning a period of about two years, according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police. Barclay Lynn Seiders, 30, of McConnellsburg, was charged with 102 counts in connection with the case, including 23 felony counts of rape, two felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one felony count of sexual assault, 22 felony counts of unlawful restraint, 22 felony counts of statutory sexual assault, three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault, six misdemeanor counts of indecent assault, 22 misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and one misdemeanor count of criminal trespass, according to the release.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man charged with raping two women on the same day had his case bound over for Franklin County Court following a preliminary hearing Tuesday. Sean Nolan Connor, 36, of 67 North Ave., is charged in two separate cases, according to court records. In one, Pennsylvania State Police charged him with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and sexual assault that allegedly took place in the vehicle of one of the women on the morning of June 9. In the other, police charged him with rape, burglary, indecent assault and sexual assault against a woman in her home on the same morning.

A St. Thomas, Pa., man has been charged with sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy, Pennsylvania State Police said. Albert Raiber, 60, of St. Thomas, was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors, simple assault and false imprisonment, according to a state police news release. Troopers said the parents of the 12-year-old told state police in Chambersburg that Raiber had sexually assaulted the boy. The crimes were alleged to have occurred from Dec. 19-31 in a home.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA. A Cumberland County man pleaded guilty Friday in Franklin County Court to sexually assaulting half a dozen boys and will serve 15 to 30 years in state prison. Edgar Vincent Stine, 72, of 111 Railroad Lane in Shippensburg, Pa., pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse as an accomplice and one count of misdemeanor indecent assault, Assistant District Attorney T.R. Williams said. "I wanted to get something for each victim named" in the case, Williams said.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Mercersburg, Pa., man charged with sexual offenses against a 4-year-old girl has been scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 1 before Magisterial District Judge David E. Hawbaker. David W. Cooper, 30, of 114 S. Main St., is charged by Mercersburg police with three counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count each of indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor, according to court records. Cooper was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Franklin County Central Court, but Assistant District Attorney Bret Palmer asked that the hearing be rescheduled to Hawbaker's Mercersburg office on April 1. An agent with Children and Youth Services contacted the police about a report of sexual abuse of the girl on Jan. 25, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
