A Greencastle, Pa., man has been charged with sexually abusing a teenage girl earlier this year, Pennsylvania State Police said. Caleb Miller Koons, 21, was charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault, according to a state police news release that was provided Thursday. Troopers alleged that Koons and a girl who was younger than 16 engaged in a sexual encounter sometime between May 25 and June 22 at an unspecified location in McConnellsburg in Fulton County, Pa.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. A high school teacher in Fulton County was arrested Friday and faces multiple sexual assault charges after alleged incidents with two students during school hours, according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police. David A. Davies, 45, of Hustontown, Pa., an eighth-grade teacher at Forbes Road High School, was charged with eight counts of indecent assault, seven counts of corruption of minors, six counts of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of harassment and three counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent exposure, according to the release.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A McConnellsburg man is charged with raping and sexually assaulting two girls, one 10 and one 12, Pennsylvania State Police troopers said Thursday. Stephen W. Dubree Jr., 39, was being held Thursday evening at the Franklin County Prison in Chambersburg, Pa., according to someone in the booking department. He has been held there since May 8, the day his home was searched, troopers said in a news release. The two victims are not related to Dubree.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court to one year in the county prison for indecent assault against two girls. Judge Carol Van Horn also sentenced Derek James Arnsparger, 21, of 3451 Church St. to five years of probation. Because one of the counts was a first-degree misdemeanor, Van Horn also ordered Arnsparger to comply with provisions of Pennsylvania's Megan's Law for reporting his address to police following his release from prison.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Juries were selected last week in Franklin County Court for three men charged in unrelated rape cases. Sean Nolan Connor, 36, of 67 North Ave., Chambersburg, will be tried Oct. 6 on charges of rape of an unconscious victim, burglary, indecent assault and sexual assault in one case; and forcible rape, sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault in another. Conner will be tried before Judge John Walker, Assistant District Attorney Lauren Sulcove said.

Man sentenced in sexual assault CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was sentenced to 41/2 to 12 years in state prison on sexual assault charges involving a teenage girl. Donald James Mellott, 40, of 9696 Circle Drive, was sentenced Wednesday in Franklin County Court by Judge John Walker. Court records stated Mellott pleaded no contest in February to indecent assault and two counts of corruption of a minor. All of the incidents involved the same girl and occurred between October 1996 and March 1997, according to court records.

A Franklin County, Pa., jury this week found Johnny Ray Sumner Jr., 21, guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and four other charges. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 14, according to a news release from the Franklin County (Pa.) District Attorney’s Office. Sumner, whose residence is listed as Chambersburg in court documents, was accused of raping a 6-year-old girl at a homeless shelter. He was also accused of other sexual offenses, the release said.

CHAMBERSBURG, PA. A Cumberland County man pleaded guilty Friday in Franklin County Court to sexually assaulting half a dozen boys and will serve 15 to 30 years in state prison. Edgar Vincent Stine, 72, of 111 Railroad Lane in Shippensburg, Pa., pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree felony involuntary deviate sexual intercourse as an accomplice and one count of misdemeanor indecent assault, Assistant District Attorney T.R. Williams said. "I wanted to get something for each victim named" in the case, Williams said.

Girl gets surgery after dog attack MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 6-year-old girl who was attacked by a dog Saturday north of Martinsburg underwent surgery that night and has received more than 100 stitches, according to a Berkeley County (W.Va.) Sheriff's Department press release. Police said the girl was attacked by a Rottweiler on Rudolph Court off of Williamsport Pike. Her injuries extended along her upper legs and hips. Berkeley County Animal Control and Sheriffs Department officers responded to the scene, and officials have said the dog owner relinquished the Rottweiler to animal control authorities.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A Waynesboro, Pa., man scheduled to be tried on charges he sexually assaulted a girl on New Year's Day has pleaded guilty to felony counts of aggravated indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor, according to his attorney. Clayton D. Tavenner, 33, of 3426 Scar Hill Road, was charged with raping a 12-year-old girl on New Year's Day. He also was charged by Waynesboro police with statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated indecent assault of a child, according to court records.
