A car and a tractor-trailer were involved in an accident on eastbound Interstate 70 about two miles east of Exit 35 (Md. 66/Mapleville Road) on Wednesday morning. Nobody was injured, Maryland State Police Trooper Dave Matthews said. A Hyundai was going up a hill in the middle lane on I-70 eastbound when the driver swerved into the right lane to avoid another vehicle merging into the middle lane, Matthews said. The Hyundai then collided with the back of the tractor-trailer, Matthews said.

One person was taken to the hospital after an accident on North Artizan Street in front of Williamsport Retirement Village on Wednesday morning, Deputy First Class Carl Witmer of the Washington County Sheriff's Department said. A Hyundai heading northbound on North Artizan Street collided with the back of a parked car in the right shoulder, Witmer said. That car was then pushed into the back of a Nissan Altima. Nobody was in the Altima, one person was in the middle car and three people were in the Hyundai, Witmer said.

Hagerstown man is charged in four-vehicle crash in Frederick County ADAMSTOWN, Md. - A Hagerstown man was charged in connection with a four-vehicle accident Thursday morning in Frederick County that sent another driver to the hospital, according to a Maryland State Police press release. Donald Brown Jr., 44, was northbound in a box truck on Md. 85 when it struck the rear of a 2002 Hyundai about 6:58 a.m., police said. The driver of the Hyundai was attempting to make a left turn into a residential driveway north of Md. 28, police said.

julieg@herald-mail.com A Washington County woman was treated at Washington County Hospital on Friday for injuries she sustained when her car collided with an adult day-care bus on the way to pick up clients at Potomac Center, according to Hagerstown Police. Joy Le Hendricks, 44, of Shinham Road northwest of Hagerstown, was released from the hospital on Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said. Hendricks was driving a Hyundai Sonata GL southeast on Salem Avenue at around 8:48 a.m. Friday when it collided with the bus heading northwest in front of 719 Salem Ave., Officer Sue Lamb said.

A Kearneysville, W.Va., woman died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 near the Tabler Station Road exit south of Martinsburg, West Virginia State Police said. Danika Guier, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene from apparent injuries she sustained in the crash, which was reported at 1:57 p.m., police said in a news release. The other two motorists involved in the incident, Ashley French, 28, of Martinsburg, and Ann Prince, 47, of Mays Landing, N.J., were not medically transported, police said.

A person who was being taken to the hospital in a private car made the rest of the trip in an ambulance following an accident at the intersection of Robinwood/Edgewood Drive and Mount Aetna Road on Tuesday morning, Deputy 1st Class Bryan Teets of the Washington County Sheriff's Office said. The accident happened at about 7:20 a.m. when a Hyundai turned left from northbound Edgewood Drive onto westbound Mount Aetna Road in front of a Sebring that was southbound on Robinwood Drive, Teets said.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A motorcyclist was injured Wednesday afternoon when another vehicle pulled into his path at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Medallion Drive, Pennsylvania State Police said. Gregory Lowe, 25, of Chambersburg, Pa., sustained moderate injuries in the 5:21 p.m. crash and was taken to Chambersburg Hospital, police said. Lowe was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle on U.S. 30 when a Hyundai Elantra driven by Brian Cramer, 26, of Chambersburg, pulled onto the highway from Medallion Lane, police said.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A 64-year-old McConnellsburg woman was killed in a car crash on U.S. 30 at Sipes Mill in Licking Creek Township in Fulton County Sunday night, Pennsylvania State Police said. Nancy Lea Orr was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said in a news release. The crash occurred about 6:05 p.m. when an eastbound 2008 Hyundai Elantra crossed the center line, hit a wooden mailbox post on the west berm, and went about 574 feet through a field, the release said.

Two people were taken to Meritus Medical Center east of Hagerstown following a two-vehicle accident at about 6:45 a.m. today on Pa. 316 at Shady Lane in Franklin County, Pennsylvania State Police said. The head-on collision occurred when a northbound Hyundai that was passing vehicles at a high rate of speed collided with a southbound Mazda, according to a state police press release. The names of the people who were taken to the hospital were not released.
