St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown and Christ Lutheran Church in Hagerstown will host a vacation Bible school from June 18 to 22. It will be at Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave. in Hagerstown The theme will be “Babylon: Daniel's Courage in Captivity.” It will be held from 6 to 8:20 p.m., preceded by a light meal at 5:30 p.m. There will be singing, stories, snacks, recreation and crafts. The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Army Field Band's Concert Band and Soldiers' Chorus as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series on Sunday, July 1, at 4:30 p.m., at HCC's Alumni Amphitheater. Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the concert is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Fort Frederick State Park will host its third annual youth fishing rodeo Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will join park staff at Fort Frederick's Beaver Pond, which will be stocked with trout and ready for fishing. The event is open to those ages 15 and younger. Prizes sponsored by the Clear Spring Lions Club will be given out to each participant. Space is limited to 30 participants and registration is required. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult older than 18 and bring their own bait and tackle.
