Fort Frederick State Park will host its third annual youth fishing rodeo Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will join park staff at Fort Frederick's Beaver Pond, which will be stocked with trout and ready for fishing. The event is open to those ages 15 and younger. Prizes sponsored by the Clear Spring Lions Club will be given out to each participant. Space is limited to 30 participants and registration is required. Each participant must be accompanied by an adult older than 18 and bring their own bait and tackle.

A sleepover for girls wil be from 8 p.m. Saturday, July 21, to 8 a.m. Sunday, July 22, at Xtreme Magic Diva Allstarz, 920 W. Washington St., Suite 200, Hagerstown. Tri-State Ravens Nest No. 12 will hold its annual banquet Saturday, June 1, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, 1718 Underpass Way in Halfway. The club will honor Kelechi Osemele of the Baltimore Ravens with its Player of the Year award and give out scholarships to local high school players. The 33rd annual Halfway Park Days, sponsored by the Lions Club of Halfway, will be held Saturday and Sunday at Martin L. “Marty” Snook Memorial Park in Halfway. Registration for the Fort Ritchie Community Center's second annual Bass Fishing Tournament is under way. The tournament will consist of three heats on March 16, April 13 and May 11, and anglers will compete for more than $15,000 in possible cash prizes. Winners of each of the three heats will be invited to compete in a championship fish-off on June 22, when boat fishing will be allowed on Lake Royer for the first time in 15 years. Fort Ritchie's Lake Royer is a 22-acre privately owned lake that restricts fishing during all other times of the year.
