MAY 23, 1920-DEC. 24, 2010 Juanita Joy Moxley, 90, passed away Dec. 24, 2010, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown following a brief illness.   Born on May 23, 1920, in Magnolia, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Hugh Johnston and Edna Ruth Moreland Johnston., Juanita was known for her warm, friendly nature. She was a resident of Hilltop Assisted Living at Homewood in Williamsport. Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, Brooks Mims Talton, in 1984, and by her second husband, Wayne Ellis Moxley, Aug. 7, 2010.

SEPT. 30, 1906-DEC. 24, 2010 Gladys K. Arnold, 104, of Williamsport, Md., died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Homewood at Williamsport in Williamsport, Md. Born Sept. 30, 1906, in Cumberland, Md., she is the daughter of the late Henry U. and Jessie B. Harrison Arnold. Ms. Arnold was a schoolteacher for many years in Morgan County schools. She retired as an English teacher at Berkeley Springs High School. She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Dorothea Kathleen Sprowl Jones, 85, of Williamsport and formerly of McConnellsburg, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at Homewood of Williamsport. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg. A graveside service will be Saturday following the visitation at Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery, Wells Tannery, Pa.

NOV. 22, 1921-MAY 30, 2010 WILLIAMSPORT - Ruth Helen Kirkwood, 88, of 16505 Virginia Avenue, Williamsport, Md., passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Homewood at Williamsport. Born Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1921, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Inglis and the late Elizabeth M. Faber Inglis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Kirkwood Sr., in 1990. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. She is survived by her son, Albert H. Kirkwood Jr., of Falling Waters, W.Va.

WILLIAMSPORT -- Asked what she likes about her husband of almost 72 years, Winnie Miller said, "Gosh, I really don't know. " She leaned over to the neighboring armchair where her husband, Henry, sat. "What do I like about you?" she laughed. "I don't like him. I love him," she said with a smile. Asked the same question about his wife, Henry Miller said, "She's very loving and easy to get along with. " "What?" she asked. "I'd like to hear it again. " "You can read about it," he said.

FEB. 16, 1917-DEC. 11, 2009 WILLIAMSPORT - Ruth Alberta Moore passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Hilltop Vistas Assisted Living at Homewood in Williamsport, where she had been a resident for the past five years. She previously resided at 300 Woodpoint Ave., Hagerstown. Born Feb. 16, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clyde E. Hose and Clara Swartz Hose. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Hagerstown, Vita Vota Class and sang with the senior choir.

JAN. 16, 1915-DEC. 10, 2009 WILLIAMSPORT - Anna Frankie McCullough, 94, formerly of Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown, died Dec. 10, 2009, at Homewood of Williamsport. Born Jan. 16, 1915, in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Barrard Mercer and Mamie Lee (Duren) Mercer-Lightfoot. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lester McCullough, on Feb. 6, 2004, after 65 years of marriage. Anna graduated from Columbia High School, Columbia, S.C., in 1933.

SEPT. 6, 1904-DEC. 2, 2009 WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - Dorothy Andrews (Jones) Kenner Carlisle, 105, of Homewood at Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown. Born Sept. 6, 1904, in Somerville, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Rowe and Lillian Gertrude (Andrews) Jones. She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church in Hagerstown. Dorothy attended Jackson College and was a graduate of Chandler Secretarial College in Boston.

AUG. 20. 1933-NOV. 21, 2009 HAGERSTOWN - Connie Jean (Longnecker) Wiles, 76, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Washington County Hospital. Born Aug. 20, 1933, in Chewsville, she was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Barbara B. (Hartle) Longnecker. She was a member of Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church. She retired after 18 years as a nursing supervisor at Homewood in Williamsport. She is survived by her loving husband, William F. Wiles; two sons, Mark O. Wiles and wife, Barbara, of Hagerstown, and Matthew W. Wiles of Hagerstown; a sister, Margaret Martin of Greencastle; a brother, Phillip Longnecker of Chewsville; a granddaughter, Kristina Schafer; grandson, Joshua Wiles; and three great-granddaughters, Emma Shaffer, Destiny Shaffer and Makenna Shaffer.
