A Miss America Seminar will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at Holiday Inn, 301 Foxcroft Ave., Martinsburg. Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan will speak at during a “Beauty From Within” seminar. The event includes a meet and greet, Q&A, photo opportunity, piano performance and refreshments. There will be a session for ages 5 to 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and one for ages 13 and older from 1 to 3 p.m. Registration costs $20, or $25 at the door. MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Holiday Inn Martinsburg has received the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) 2009 Torchbearer Award, the company's most prestigious award. IHG is the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms. The Torchbearer Awards were presented during the 2009 IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., Nov. 11-13. Tom Belfield, general manager of the Holiday Inn Martinsburg, accepted the award. The Holiday Inn Martinsburg is one of only 90 properties chosen from the IHG system of more than 4,300 hotels for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operation - from quality to customer satisfaction, according to a news release from IHG. A 2009 Torchbearer trophy, the company's symbol of excellence, will be on permanent display at the hotel.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Aryonna Kayleigh Martin of Martinsburg recently was crowned Grand Champion Rainbow State winner for 3 and younger and West Virginia State Queen/Baby Miss at the Rainbow Pageant at the Holiday Inn. Aryonna received several crowns and awards and was recognized for her beauty and personality. She was sponsored in the pageant by Jerry Williams, State Farm Insurance; Gail at Tabler Station Storage; Hagerstown Ford; and her family. Aryonna, who celebrated her first birthday Oct. 2, is the daughter of Arnold Martin III and Michelle Taylor.
