A Baltimore woman was charged with possession of heroin and carrying a concealed weapon while at the Maryland Correctional Training Center Friday morning to visit an inmate, according to Maryland State Police. Tarita Lissome Lyon, 35, also was charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. A correctional officer noticed a bulge in a woman's cheek and asked her to spit what she had in her mouth into a trash can, police said.

The following individuals have been indicted this week by a grand jury that was seated Tuesday for the February term of Berkeley County Circuit Court. An indictment merely indicates that an individual is believed to have committed the crime. Azeez B. Banire, 21, Martins Landing, Apt. 125, Martinsburg, on counts of burglary, second-degree robbery and conspiracy. Shanz J. Campbell, 28, 364 Royal Crest Drive, Martinsburg, on two counts of delivery of cocaine and one count of conspiracy to deliver cocaine.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg woman was charged Friday after police seized about 2 1/2 grams of heroin and marijuana paraphernalia from a Martinsburg residence, according to a press release from the Martinsburg Police Department. Desirae Beitzel, 30, of 110 Morrow Ave., was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, according to the release from Detective S.F. Doyle. A confidential informant purchased the drug Thursday from Beitzel, according to the release.

A Hagerstown man faces drugs and weapon charges after a search of his home Saturday morning, according to a news release from the Hagerstown Police Department. Police arrested Jimmie Eugene Lane Jr., 25, of 620 Linganore Avenue, and charged him with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a handgun in the commission of a drug crime, according to police.

Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of 11 people in Martinsburg this week on drug-related charges as a result of an investigation over the past several weeks, Martinsburg Police Department announced. Those arrested were: Richard Mikel Bowers, 25, of 312 N. Maple Ave., charged with single counts of distribution of heroin and conspiracy and two counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin. Brittany Ann Ulery, 26, of 312 N. Maple Ave., charged with single counts of distribution of heroin and conspiracy to distribute heroin.

Man found dead had been treated for drug overdose in May 2000 By KIMBERLY YAKOWSKI kimy@herald-mail.com GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police identified a man found dead in his home by his girlfriend Tuesday morning as David Earl Nunemaker. Police said Friday they were awaiting the results of an autopsy and toxicology tests on Nunemaker, 22, of 12740 Molly Pitcher Highway in Greencastle to learn his cause of death. In May 2000 Nunemaker was treated at Chambersburg Hospital for a drug overdose, police said then.

Police in Martinburg arrested 11 people Wednesday as a result of multiple drug investigations that targeted people who traffic narcotics, the Martinsburg Police Department announced. Police said in a news release Wednesday afternoon that the following people were arrested; Danny Lamony Redman, 34, no fixed address, was charged with two counts of delivery of crack cocaine. Douglas William White, 22,  of 700 W. Burke St., Apt. 35, Martinsburg, was charged with delivery of marijuana.

Four people were charged with drug crimes Wednesday after the Washington County Narcotics Task Force executed three search warrants in Hancock, Sgt. Todd Kerns said. Hancock Police and the Washington County Special Response Team assisted in the search, Kerns said in a news release. Authorities got the warrants after investigators discovered that drugs were being distributed out of several homes, he said. Destinee Nichole Anderson, 23, of 103 W. Main St. Apt. 4, was charged with distribution of heroin, conspiracy to distribute heroin, two counts of possession to distribute heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of controlled paraphernalia.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two men were arrested early Wednesday at a Martinsburg motel where they were staying, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records. Robert L. Adams Sr., 44, of 307 N. High St., Martinsburg, and Richard M. Bowers, 19, of 846 Currency Drive, Bunker Hill, W.Va., each were charged by Berkeley County Sheriff's Department Deputy R.L. Steerman with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (heroin) and conspiracy to possess and deliver the drugs, records show.

Man faces drug charge after search of his home MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A 58-year-old Martinsburg man was arraigned Thursday on a drug charge after police forced their way into his South Queen Street residence in Martinsburg, according to court records. Henry Grady Smith Jr., of 414 S. Queen St., was arraigned by Berkeley County Magistrate Joan V.
