Mildred Barr Wolf, 97, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the Meritus Medical Center. Born Monday, Sept. 13, 1915, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Karl L. Barr and the late Lillian (Ruby) Barr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Wolf, in 2003. She was a 1933 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was employed at Leiter Brothers for 13 years and later employed at Maryland National Bank at Longmeadow, retiring after 22 years.

Virginia "Ginny" Coyler, 84, of Woodburn, Ore., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. Ginny was born to Boyd and Vallie (Steed) Snapp. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1948. In May 1960, she married John Monrow Coyler in Virginia (he died in 1999); they later moved to the Woodburn area. Mrs. Coyler was very involved in her community. Although she was mostly a homemaker, she enjoyed doing volunteer work. She was a volunteer tutor for Chemeketa School, the city of Woodburn Dial-A-Ride program, Meals on Wheels, Red Cross and Salem Hospital.

Frances Virginia Monninger, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at the Meritus Medical Center. Born Monday, Sept. 22, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Bowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Elwood Monninger Sr., in 1983. She attended Hagerstown High School. She was a retired employee of Trans Corp. and was of the Lutheran faith. She is survived by her two daughters, Diana Mae Hoover of Clear Spring, Md., and Michelle Kay Michael of Zullinger, Pa.; two sons, Walter Elwood Monninger Jr. of Hagerstown, and Dallas Wayne Monninger of Clear Spring; four granddaughters, Shannon Monninger, Spring Roth, Morgan Monninger, Carlie Monninger; three grandsons, Samuel Monninger, Conner Michael, and Chase Michael; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Mychaela Roth; and a special niece, Sara Scott of Hagerstown.

James W. Kirby, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home. Born Jan. 12, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles W. and C. Helen Kirby. James graduated in 1952 from Hagerstown High School and was employed in the automotive parts industry for more than 49 years. He retired from Samuel K. Spigler Co. Inc. in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ann Kirby; two stepsons, Robert E. Ankeney Jr. and William F. Ankeney III; one son, Shawn W. Kirby and his wife, Karen, of Fairplay, and their two children; and a brother, Francis Kronawetter and his wife, Sharon, and their three sons.

June M. Gaylor, 94, of 1046 Security Road in Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at her home. Born June 21, 1918, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer G. and Eva A. Plummer Price. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Donald Gaylor, on Nov. 2, 1996. She was a 1935 graduate of Hagerstown High School and attended Columbia Business College. She left Pangborn Corp. in July 1955 after more than 13 years of service. She was previously employed by Interwoven Knitting Mill.

Robert Willett Rohrer, 98, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Village at Robinwood. Born Dec. 30, 1914, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Robert Richard and Helen S. (Willett) Rohrer. Robert was a graduate of Hagerstown High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Robert retired after 40 years of service as an engineer with the Western Maryland Railway. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church; Mount Zion Mason Lodge 774 in McConnellsburg from 1985 to 1992 before he transferred his membership to the Friendship Lodge No. 84 A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the United Transportation Union of Railroads.

Mary Lorraine Shipp, 83, of Point Salem Road in Hagerstown, Md., went to be with her Lord on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village, where she had been living for several years. Born Thursday, Sept. 12, 1929, in Leitersburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Marshall Strite Sr. and the late Martha V. Hykes Strite. She graduated from Hagerstown High School. She was a lifetime member of Longmeadow Church of the Brethren. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herman Albert Shipp Jr.; two daughters, Sharon Kay Beesley and husband, Mark, of Rockford, Ill., and Marianne Henesy and husband, Tim, of Hagerstown; two sons, Dennis Shipp of Hagerstown and James Shipp of Waynesboro, Pa.; three brothers, Marshall Strite Jr., Galen Strite and Charles Strite; grandsons, Matthew and Jonathan Henesy; and granddaughter, Mary Claire Beesley.

Born Sept. 2, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late David William and Susie Jane Mullenix Gossard. She was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was previously employed by the Community Action Council. She was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church. Her favorite hobby was cooking for the church.
