MARCH 5, 1941-NOV. 22, 2009 Charles William Price Jr., 68, of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at his residence. Born March 5, 1941, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Alice R. (Hatfield) Price. A 1959 graduate of Hagerstown High School, Charles went on to work at Victor Cullen School for the State of Maryland, Fairchild Aircraft and retired from the Creekside Inn in 2003. He was also an avid sports fan and sportsman. Charles is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Lynn Price of St. Cloud, Fla., David L. Price of Hagerstown, Michael T. Price of Waynesboro and William C. Price of Hagerstown; a sister, Phyern L. Higman of Maugansville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nieces; one great-niece; and former wife, Maryann Smith.

Betty Lou Lynn, 87, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport, Md. Born May 13, 1926, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Elizabeth Everly Pompell. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Eugene Munson Sr., in 1996; and her second husband, Luther Martin Lynn, in 2000. She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.

Frances Jean Keefauver, 79, of 55 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center. Born Jan. 29, 1933, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Frank Johnathan and Sarah Katheryn Trovinger Schlotterbeck. She graduated in 1951 from Hagerstown High School. She was previously employed by Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Reed Industries and for 13 years by Hagerstown Shoe Co. She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church. She was a member of V.F.W.

Blanche G. Eissner, 94, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Cecil B. and Flossie (Ambrose) Ridenour. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Earl W. Eissner, on Oct. 28, 2009. She was a 1935 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She retired from H.L. Mills Inc. after 24 years. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Ladies of the Elks Lodge 378. She was past president of Hagerstown Business and Professional Women's Club.

OCT. 15, 1931-MARCH 19, 2009 Nancy Lee Snyder, 77, of 1021 Beechwood Drive in Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Washington County Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed. Born Oct. 15, 1931, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Laurella V. Biser Willingham. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1949. She had been employed as a secretary by Wright Gardner and also was a homemaker.

DEC. 13, 1931-APRIL 13, 2009 Raymond Milton Palmer, 77, of 17000 Hillsdale Court, Hagerstown, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Washington County Hospital. Born Dec. 13, 1931, in Smithsburg, he was the son of the late Harry Sylvester and Dorothy Loretta Bowman Wilt. He was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He served in the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army before joining the U.S. Air Force and serving in Vietnam. He was a Seventh-day Adventist.

MAY 1, 1928-JULY 26, 2011 Frederick Aldine Shank, 83, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village. Born Tuesday, May 1, 1928, in Middletown, Md., he was the son of the late Raymond Isaac Shank and the late Anna Hazel Gladhill Shank Eckard. He was a 1947 graduate of Hagerstown High School and later graduated from Columbia Business College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Fred was employed with the Maryland Correctional Institution, retiring after 31 years of service.

H. Darlene Sparaco, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center. Born Oct. 2, 1930, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Truman Carvel and Clara Bell White Smith. She was a 1948 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was employed by the Washington County Department of Social Services for 43 years, retiring in January 1992. She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren and Maryland Classified Employees Association.

Leon W. Cross, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center. Born in 1927 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Hoye William Cross and the late Goldie Viola MacDonald Cross. He graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1945. He was employed with M.P. Moller Inc. for 45 years, retiring in 1989 as head finisher. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Merchant Marine. He was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, and a member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 378 and Morris Frock American Legion Post 42. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Fleming and husband, Steven, of Shippensburg, Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Marie Cross, in 1998, and his brother, Howard Edwin Cross.

Atlee “Junior” Barkdoll Sheiss Jr., 75, of Boonsboro, Md., passed from this life on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at his home. Born on Sept. 3, 1937, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Atlee B. Sheiss Sr. and Ruth L. (Rhines) Sheiss. He was preceded in death by his companion, Mary E. Hepner, on April 14, 2013. Atlee was a 1956 graduate from Hagerstown High School and he was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Atlee worked as a brick mason for more than 50 years.
