The magic carpet ride for Greencastle continued Friday night, but it took the Blue Devils a while to continue toward an unbeaten regular season. No. 1 Greencastle (9-0) came out of the gates a little flat, but once the team woke up and realized Waynesboro (3-6) would not be a pushover despite a five-game losing streak, the Blue Devils surged forward to a 42-12 victory at Kaley Field. Waynesboro threw a scare into Greencastle when it took a 12-7 lead early in the second quarter, but the Blue Devils responded in force on both sides of scrimmage in beating the Indians for the seventh consecutive season.
