Debbie Hardin is a fixture at the City Farmers Market in downtown Hagerstown, where she has sold homemade hard candy for 22 years at her vendor's stall, Deb's Delights. Hardin says she learned to cook from her mother and grandmother, and she always cooks from scratch. A couple of her specialties are banana bread and macaroni and cheese. This vegetable recipe features fresh, garden produce and bacon or ham, all available at the City Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Hardin is a vendor at both City markets - the historic City Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings and Market Faire on Thursdays.

Tuesday - Chicken nuggets with sunshine biscuit, pineapple, whipped potatoes and gravy, peas, cranberry sauce, and milk. Wednesday - Rigatoni with beef ravioli with school wheat roll, mixed fruit, tossed salad, Italian ice, and milk. Thursday - Teriyaki pork strips with teriyaki sauce, applesauce, rice and vegetable casserole, pudding pop, and milk.

Tuesday - Chicken nuggets with muffin, pineapple chunks, whipped potatoes and gravy, tender peas and milk. Wednesday - Tacos and salsa, shape-up bar, golden corn, raisins and milk. Thursday - Ham and cheese sub, assorted fresh fruit, thick veggie soup, pretzel pack and milk. Friday - Shrimp poppers with cocktail sauce, diced peaches, lettuce-less salad, macaroni and cheese and milk.

Nov. 21 - Nov. 27 The Washington County Commission on Aging offers noon lunches to anyone 60 years and older at seven locations - Hancock, Smithsburg, Keedysville, Williamsport and three in Hagerstown. A two-day reservation notice is required and a donation is asked per meal. For information, call 301-790-0275. Weekly menu Wednesday - Salmon patty, tiny potato tasters, spinach, mixed fruit, whole-grain bread, spice cake and milk. Thursday - Closed.
