“Regarding trash at Garland Groh: How about people not throwing trash out and on other people's property in the first place? And does any kind of commissioner or director of agency responsible for codes ever drive up and down our county roads and see abandoned buildings and businesses, and people using their yards for a dump? Take a drive along Broadfording and Rockdale roads, for starters. Washington County is becoming a blight county.” - Clear Spring “I'm just calling because I'd like to know, why are people wasting their money on handicapped tags when there's no place to park downtown in the first place?

“And on the 8th day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, 'I need a caretaker.' So God made a farmer. “God said, 'I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the fields, milk cows again, eat supper and then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board.' So God made a farmer. “I need somebody with arms strong enough to rustle a calf and yet gentle enough to deliver his own grandchild. Somebody to call hogs, tame cantankerous machinery, come home hungry, have to wait lunch until his wife's done feeding visiting ladies and tell the ladies to be sure and come back real soon - and mean it.” So God made a farmer.

God issues warning in the book of Jude To the editor: To all of those who think God is silent concerning the sin of homosexuality, there is a Bible warning of what will happen to a society of men and women who ignore God's order for them in life. This warning and example is found in the book of Jude, verse 7. Once a society starts down the road of endorsing and sanctioning this sin of fornication, that society will suffer the vengeance of eternal fire. Do you hear God's historical warnings: politicians, judges and academics who want to cater society to their lustful pursuits?

Mosaics. Stained glass. A carved wood screen. Needlework. Creche scenes. Fine art in a museum display? No. Inspirational art in historic Hagerstown churches. The idea is for churches to open their doors and share their historic structures - plus music, refreshments, holiday decorations and post-Christmas relaxation - with the public.
