GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Gettysburg College will host "The Wall That Heals," a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., today through Sunday, Oct. 11. The wall is set up on the north side of Pennsylvania Hall just off 300 N. Washington St. The opening ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. today near the wall. It will be open 24 hours a day at no charge. Smith-Small Marianne Faye Smith and Robert Justin Small announce their engagement. Miss Smith is the daughter of John Smith and Carole Smith, both of Smithsburg. She is a 1997 graduate of Smithsburg High School and attends Hagerstown Community College part-time. She is employed at The Stationery House in Hagerstown. Mr. Small is the son of Robert and BJ Small of Smithsburg. He is a 2000 graduate of Smithsburg High School. He is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, in the 157th Military Police Company in Martinsburg, W.Va.

MARCH 6, 1925-APRIL 12, 2010 Hubert Aldine "Hugh" Brandenburg, 85, of 500 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, at Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown. Born Friday, March 6, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Clay K. Brandenburg and Eleanor Stine Brandenburg. He graduated in 1943 from Hagerstown High School, and went on to receive his bachelor of arts degree from Gettysburg College and his master's degree from the University of Texas.

Engagement announcements for 1/19 France-Felker The Honorable Ralph H. II and Carol B. France wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Elizabeth France, to Timothy Lewis Felker Jr., son of Timothy L. and Carol Ann Felker of Arlington, Va. Ms. France is a 1989 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, a 1993 graduate of Haverford College and a 1999 graduate of George Washington University Law School. She is an attorney with the Office of General Council at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. Mr. Felker is a 1983 graduate of Berlin American High School, a 1987 graduate of University of Notre Dame and a 1990 graduate of University of Virginia School of Law. He is the counsel for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center in Alexandria, Va. An October wedding is planned.

The Rev. Robert Warren Koons, 95, of 263 Barlow St., Gettysburg, Pa., died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on All Saints Day, Nov. 1, 2012. The son of John Raymond and Kathryn Herr Koons, he was born July 11, 1917, in Altoona, Pa., and lived his early years in Harrisburg, Pa. In 1949, he married Grace Bowman of Timberville, Va. Their lives together spanned 57 years, until Grace's death at 89 in 2006. He is survived by three children, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
