A Hagerstown man was arrested Sunday night after police said he pointed a handgun at his ex-girlfriend, Hagerstown Police Sgt. Johnny Murray said. A 24-year-old Frederick Street man was to be charged with first- and second-degree assault, Murray said. Police got a report at about 9:25 p.m. that a man had pointed a handgun at his ex-girlfriend and threatened her in the 200 block of Frederick Street, Murray said. No shots were fired and no one was injured, he said. The man was taken into custody without incident, Murray said.

Hagerstown man charged with holding, assaulting wife An estranged husband accused of assaulting and holding his wife against her will was arrested and charged Thursday, the Hagerstown Police Department said. Douglas Scott Hollar, 37, of 1119 Green Lane in Hagerstown, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and false imprisonment, according to a press release. Police said Hollar allegedly drove to a house in the 700 block of Spruce Street in Hagerstown at about 9 p.m. Thursday and left with his wife.

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police and Brunswick (Md.) Police Department have identified two suspects involved in a series of thefts from residences and vehicles in Frederick County, according to a Frederick County Sheriff's Office press release. Gary Allen Robinson, 19, of Frederick, was arrested Friday and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center's Central Booking Unit, police said. A grand jury indicted Robinson on 13 counts of rogue and vagabond, 10 counts of theft over $500, six counts of theft less than $500, three counts of first-degree burglary, one count of theft scheme and one count of conspiracy to commit theft scheme, police said.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Frederick, Md., man who was spotted urinating outside of a club in Martinsburg with an open container of alcohol in his hand early Sunday had several bags of drugs stashed in a body cavity, according to police and Berkeley County Magistrate Court records. Christopher Darnell Alexander, 27, of 1000J Heather Ridge Drive, Apt. 113, was in Eastern Regional Jail on Monday on a $75,000 bond set by Magistrate Harry L. Snow, according to jail and court records. Alexander was charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (cocaine, crack cocaine and ecstasy)

FREDERICK, Md. -- A Baltimore man who police said was shot outside a Frederick bar Friday morning was listed in critical condition Saturday night. Tamir Matthews, 28, was being treated at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Leonard Anthony Petrus, 31, of the 200 block of West Patrick Street in Frederick, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and several other assault and weapons crimes, according to a Frederick Police Department press release.

FREDERICK, Md. --Â A Frederick, Md. man died Wednesday after he was injured in a traffic accident on U.S. 15 near Old Frederick Road, Maryland State Troopers said. Troopers responded to the accident at 2:05 p.m., officers said in a news release. Vernon Baker Stickley, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle Stickley was driving failed to yield while crossing U.S. 15 from Old Frederick Road and was struck on the driver's side by a 2004 Ford pickup operated by Joel Byron Lindblom, 51, of Thurmont, Md., police said.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a man found Friday night in his pickup truck in a commuter parking lot at the Falling Waters, W.Va., exit for Interstate 81. The man was identified as Clarence Oscar "C.J. " Green Jr., 38, of Frederick County, Md. "The cause of death is still under investigation and this is being treated as a homicide until a ruling from the (West Virginia) Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston ... " Sheriff's Department Deputy Lt. Gary Harmison said Monday in a press release.
