Bomb threat at Frederick High School FREDERICK, Md. - Students at Frederick High School were evacuated briefly after the school received a bomb threat Friday morning. Police officers searched the building and at 9:50 a.m., 10 minutes before the caller said the bomb would explode, the students were ordered outside. About 10:10 a.m., the students were allowed back inside. A copy of the 911 tape led to a former student, who now attends a different school, being charged with false statement of a destructive device and telephone misuse.

DEC. 17, 1969-NOV. 16, 2009 Amy Elizabeth Neuls, 39, of Frederick, Md., and Hagerstown, Md., passed away due to complications of multiple myeloma on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, in the loving presence of her family. Born Dec. 17, 1969, in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of Beth Suydan of Frederick and the late Carl William Nuels Jr. She attended Frederick High School from 1983 to 1987. She was a member of Turning Point in Hagerstown.

AUG. 28, 1944-FEB. 14, 2009 JEFFERSON, Md. -- Clark Joseph Hartman, 64, of Jefferson, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore after a short battle with cancer. Born Aug. 28, 1944, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of Adelaide L. Hartman of Frederick. He was a 1963 graduate of Frederick High School and had some college education. He was a government employee and retired from National Institutes of Health.  He served in the U.S. Army.

Mrs. Beatrice M. Cole, 93 JUNE 24, 1915-FEB. 19, 2009 FREDERICK, Md. - Mrs. Beatrice M. Cole, 93, of Frederick, died Thursday, Feb. 19, at Northampton Manor Health Care. She was the wife of the late William W. Cole, who died April 13, 1997. Born June 24, 1915, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Lula Phelps. Mrs. Cole was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick and the Friendly Girls Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Diane Spring-Myers, 55, of Frederick, Md., went to be with her Lord and her dad, Friday, April 29, 2011. She was the wife of Keith A. Myers, her husband of five years. Born Dec. 13, 1955, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Annalee Rollison Spring of Lime Kiln and the late James D. Spring. Diane was a 1973 graduate of Frederick High School. She had attended Washington Square United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, her cats Rikki and Lucy, fishing and going to auctions.

FREDERICK, Md. - Richard Francis Smith, 87, of 263 Wyngate Drive, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Washington County Hospital. Born Jan. 13, 1916, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Wilburn and Anna Rosalie Brookey Stull. He was a 1933 graduate of Frederick High School. He had worked for Marken-Befeld Printing Co. and retired from the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations in the 396th Bomb Squadron, attached to the 41st Medium Bomb Group.

Mr. Raymond V. Crabbs, 84, of Frederick, Md., passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, after a brief illness at the Kline Hospice House. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Caroline Crabbs for 63 years. Born Jan. 10, 1928, in Yellow Springs, Md., he was the son of the late Charles and Clara Boyer Crabbs. Mr. Crabbs was a graduate of Frederick High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a World War II veteran. Raymond was a general manager for Frederick Brick Works prior to his retirement.

SEPT. 4, 1920-MAY 25, 2011 Mr. Alvie N. Covell, 90, of Walkersville, Md., passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at the Northampton Manor Health Care Center in Frederick, Md. He was the husband of the late Anna Mae Covell. They were married for 54 years. Born Sept. 4, 1920, in Ijamsville, Md., he was the son of the late Alonzo and Bessie Covell. Alvie was a member of the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Walkersville. He was still an active member of the finance committee.

MAY 26, 1929-JUNE 8, 2009 FREDERICK, Md. --Â Mrs. Ruby Anne Zimmerman Baker, 80, of Frederick, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Meadows Dialysis Center in Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Russell Linwood Baker, who died in September 1995. Mrs. Baker was born in Frederick on May 26, 1929, a daughter of the late John Melvin and Grace Grove Zimmerman. She was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1947 and for many years worked in the office of Sagner's in Frederick.
