keller@herald-mail.com Even after an unbeaten regular season, the North Hagerstown football team still had something to prove when they played their first postseason game in 13 years Friday at School Stadium. By the time the second quarter was over, the Hubs had made their point. North scored four unanswered touchdowns in the first half on the way to a 33-13 win over Fort Hill in the Class 2A West semifinals to extend its magical season by one more week. The Hubs will play at South Carroll in the region final next weekend after dismissing the notion their 10-0 record in the regular season was the result of a soft schedule by beating one of the most tradition-rich programs in the state.

View all of the photos for purchase! SMITHSBURG -- Smithsburg football coach Buddy Orndorff makes it sound simple. In order for the Leopards to beat Fort Hill tonight in the Maryland Class 1A West semifinals in Cumberland, they'll have to be nearly perfect. It's that simple. "We're going have to play probably the best ballgame we've played all year long," Orndorff said. "We're capable of that. We've had good practices, we have a good idea of what they do, but we're going to have to play mistake-free football.

CUMBERLAND, Md. -- For the majority of David Walker's tenure as Martinsburg football coach, the Bulldogs have been on the winning side of lopsided games. Friday night at Greenway Avenue Stadium, the tables were turned on the 'Dogs. Martinsburg had no answer for Fort Hill's offense -- whether running or throwing -- as the Sentinels rolled up 432 yards in a 41-14 rout of the Bulldogs in the renewal of their long-standing rivalry. The 27-point margin of defeat was the largest for the Bulldogs since losing the 2006 Class AAA state final to Parkersburg, 34-6.
