(Spence) Willie James Williams, 43, of 65 Murph Ave., probation before judgment (possession of illegal drugs), one year probation. (Spence) Jerry Anderson, 31, of 128 1/2 N. Locust St., possession of fake drugs, 10 months in jail.

City charges 11 in sweep By KIMBERLY YAKOWSKI / Staff Writer Police made 11 arrests on charges ranging from drugs to prostitution Wednesday in Hagerstown, Hagerstown City Police said. The arrests were made in different operations by Hagerstown City Police Criminal Investigation Division, Washington County DEA Narcotics Task Force and the Hagerstown Police Street Crimes Unit in the HotSpots area from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Hagerstown's CID was joined by administrative officers at the department in making the arrests, police said.

(Boone) Dorteresa Y. Cruse, 35, of 132 N. Luzerne Ave., Baltimore; possession with intent to distribute heroin; 10-year suspended sentence, three years probation. (Boone) Gerald Arnold Ingram, 22, of 423 Wyoming Ave., Hagerstown; conspiracy to distribute cocaine; three years in prison, three years probation.

Inmate who fled work-release sought Police are looking for a prison inmate who walked away from a work-release program in Hagerstown Friday afternoon. Phillip Scott Barnette, 20, formerly of Hagerstown, was serving a six-year sentence, according to a press release from Maryland State Police. Barnette is described as a black man who is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 179 pounds. Anyone with information may call Maryland State Police at 301-739-2101. Three charged with buying fake crack Two out-of-state residents and an Allegany County, Md., man were charged with purchasing fake crack cocaine after drug sting operations early Friday morning, Hagerstown city police said.

Frederic police make drug, solicitation arrests FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick City Police arrested two people on drug charges and one on prostitution-related charges in the 400-500 block of North Market Street early Thursday. Lee Lamont Thompson, 38, of Baltimore, was charged with possession of marijuana. Michael Alan Baker, 34, of Linganore Road, Frederick, was charged with purchasing fake drugs and driving on a suspended/revoked license. Ronald Grant Wilmore, 46, of Harrisonburg, Va., was charged with one count of solicitation for prostitution.

HAGERSTOWN -- Plea agreements Tuesday in three unrelated drug cases in Washington County Circuit Court resulted in prison sentences for those convicted of possession with intent to distribute heroin, distribution of cocaine and possession of fake crack cocaine. o Teresa Lynn Layman, 44, of 38 Fairground Ave., Apt. 2, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with all but four years suspended after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin. Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr. ordered an additional three years of supervised probation for Layman.

District Judge Ralph H. France set the following bonds during bail review hearings Friday in Washington County District Court: Dustin Eugene Slavens, 17, of 111 Elizabeth Street, Hagerstown, was charged Thursday with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of second-degree assault. He remained held on $500,000 bond. He was accused of choking his brother, Colten Slavens, 20, and then stabbing him in the torso and shoulder after an argument over a video game at their home.
