Tuesday, September 10, 2013 PREP VOLLEYBALL Heritage 3, Shalom 2 MARION, Pa. - Chloe Prejean had five kills, 27 digs, 38 assists, 19 service points, four aces and four blocks and Heritage Academy pulled out a five-set 25-20, 25-9, 23-25, 23-25, 15-5 victory over Shalom Christian to remain undefeated in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference. Nicole Gaylor had 33 digs, Ashton Hinnant had 18 kills and seven blocks, Christi Jackson had 12 kills and five blocks, Hannah Barnes had 16 digs, 20 service points and three aces, Hannah Gaylor had 11 digs and nine service points and Hannah Muller had 13 digs and six service points for the Eagles (6-0, 5-0)

Friday, September 6, 2013 PREP FOOTBALL ELDERSBURG, Md. - Jordan Stonebreaker rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries for Williamsport in the Wildcats' 34-30 season-opening loss to Liberty on Friday night. Williamsport led 6-0 at halftime, but Liberty rallied in the second half, outscoring the Wildcats 28-14 in the third quarter to take a 28-20 lead. Stonebreaker's first TD came in the third on a 7-yard score and his second TD came in the fourth on a 17-yard score.

Hunter McKinley had 10 points, five rebounds and six steals, Noah Teeter had 10 rebounds and six steals, Logan Manning had eight rebounds, Chad Sipe had seven rebounds and Tosten added four steals for the Panthers (4-6). Last year, fifth-grader Hannah Hearn and some of her classmates washed fire trucks; this year it was police cruisers. Hannah, 11, was one of nearly 300 Faith Christian Academy prekindergarten to 12th grade students taking part in their school's annual Labors of Love community-service project. Teams of students were sent to 48 work sites Friday morning in Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson counties in West Virginia, and Washington County in Maryland. Their tasks ranged from simple landscape projects like raking, weeding and planting flowers to house-cleaning chores, pet care, roadway trash pickup, trail building, painting, washing windows and emergency vehicles and singing to nursing-home residents.

Broadfording Christian Academy and New Life Christian School split two Mason Dixon Christian Conference boys basketball regular-season matchups. The “tiebreaker” came in Saturday's MDCC Tournament championship game. Only four players scored for New Life, but those four did just enough damage to sink Broadfording 67-66 for the title. “We have four guys who average around 14 to 17 points per game,” Rams coach Bruce Bryant said. “They can all score at any time - it's a nice luxury.” Nate DeJong led New Life (20-8)
