Faith Christian opened its boys season with a hat trick as it captured the Mountain View Tip Off Tournament title. On Saturday, Nov. 19, Faith dropped United Christian, 62-43, behind Chris Apple's 12, 10-rebound outing and 10 points and 6 assists from Justin Way. One day earlier, the Falcons downed Grace Academy, a regular-season opponent in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference, 52-40. Way hit 7 of 11 from the free throw line and led Faith Christian with 11 points. In the first-round opener on Nov. 15, Faith defeated United Christian 50-46 as Apple as 16 points and 10 rebounds and Way scored 15 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Faith Christian 41, Mountain View 37 WINCHESTER, Va. - Hannah Carter had 13 points and Rebekah Lohr had 12 points as Faith Christian opened its season with an overtime win over Mountain View. Frederick Warriors 43, Highland View Academy 25 Kimberly Passarelli had 23 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals to lead the Frederick Warriors over Highland View Academy.

The Heritage Academy junior high girls and boys basketball teams were the champions of the Mason Dixon Christian Conference tournaments. In the finals, the Heritage girls beat Shalom Christian 31-26, while the Heritage boys defeated Faith Christian 32-19.

  PREP VOLLEYBALL Heritage 3, Grace 2 Heritage Academy went five sets with Grace Academy in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference match, winning 25-18, 16-25, 25-21, 12-25, 15-8. Chloe Prejean had 35 assists, 13 points, three aces and three blocks for Heritage (3-0, 2-0). Ashton Hinnant had 12 kills, Christi Jackson had 11 kills, Nicole Gaylor had 26 digs, Hannah Barnes had 12 points and Lizzy Kriner had 11 points and nine kills. Valerie Cole had 29 assists and 13 digs, Allie Cox had 10 points and 13 digs, Heather Groves had 11 points and seven kills, Brooke Morgan had eight kills and Hannah Colvin has nine points, 13 kills and 10 digs for Grace.

Friday, April 12, 2013 PREP SOFTBALL Williamsport 10, Boonsboro 9 WILLIAMSPORT - Williamsport needed nine innings to get its first win of the season Friday against Boonsboro in an MVAL Antietam game. Kate Wade earned the win on the mound for Williamsport (1-7, 1-5).  Tristen Hartle hit two three-run homers for Boonsboro (0-7, 0-5) and Natelie Tobrey added a two-run shot, but the Warriors committed nine errors. Southern Fulton 14, Meyersdale 1 MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Southern Fulton was got a complete game from starter Marley Elbin and rolled to a win over Meyersdale.

Thursday, February 7, 2013 GIRLS BASKETBALL Hancock 42, Faith 38 HANCOCK - Alisa Shives had 20 points and six rebounds as Hancock held on for a win over Faith Christian on Thursday. The Panthers (14-5) outscored Faith 17-3 in the third quarter to take a 34-22 lead and held off Faith despite being outscored 16-8 in the final period. Kristen Shoemaker had five steals and Joan Leavy had 14 rebounds for Hancock. Amanda Deneseus had nine points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for Faith.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 GIRLS BASKETBALL Boonsboro 39, Catoctin 34 BOONSBORO - Claudia Jenkins and Tiffany Bowman combined to score all the points in Boonsboro's 10-2 run to open the third quarter as the Warriors knocked off Catoctin (9-7, 6-4) in an MVAL Antietam game Tuesday. The Warriors (10-6, 7-3) held a 17-16 at the half before working the ball inside to use their height advantage. Jenkins and Bowman scored all the points of the run off offensive rebounds.

Winborn Classic on Saturday. Lexi Taylor had another double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the Eagles. She was named to the all-tournament team. Carly Elliott led all scorers with 28 points and also grabbed eight rebounds, while Kristen Nunn had 19 points and nine assists for Hedgesville (5-3)

Will Peralta had 13 points, Andrew Yacyk had nine points, six rebounds and five assists, and Max Ober added six steals, six rebounds and five assists in the victory. The Hubs forced 25 turnovers and outrebounded the Lancers 41-27.

Saturday, November 17, 2012 BOYS BASKETBALL WINCHESTER, Va. - Broadfording Christian Academy won an unusual basketball doubleheader on Saturday, which included the title game of the Mountain View Christian preseason tournament. The Lions (3-0) downed Mountain View Christian in the final 69-50 in the afternoon after a morning victory over St. John's (Va.) Christian 83-35. Against Mountain View, Moni Anderson tallied a career-high 29 points and had four assists and three steals.
