Krissy Grosselin scored 14 points, Colleen Shumaker and Katie Biggs each added 12 and Jerica Hewett had seven rebounds for the Rams (9-10, 6-6). PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - Shepherd running back Dervon Wallace was named the West Virginia Conference offensive player of the year for the second straight season Tuesday, while Fairmont State linebacker Vince Black earned the league's defensive honor. Shepherd's Monte Cater was named coach of the year a fourth straight time. The awards were voted on by league coaches. Wallace is the first repeat winner of the offensive honor since Shepherd's Damian Beane in 1988 and 1999.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL HCC 3, Hartford 0 BEL AIR, Md. - Sammi Snodderly had seven aces, six kills and six digs as Hagerstown defeated Hartford, 30-7, 30-8, 30- 12. Karey Toms had seven kills and five aces for the Hawks (11-4, 4-0), while Kayla Martin had eight assists and five aces. Caitlyn Selby had five kills and Jessica Ambrose had nine assists. Hagerstown is ranked 14th in NJCAA Division II. Shepherd 3, Fairmont State 0 FAIRMONT, W.Va. - Kiira Cerasi had 17 kills and 13 digs to lead Shepherd to a 30-28, 30-20, 30-27 WVIAC win over Fairmont State.

MEN'S BASKETBALL Shepherd 75, Fairmont 71 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Darren Stackhouse led four Rams in double digits with 20 points as Shepherd University edged Fairmont State in WVIAC action on Saturday. Donald Thomas added 18 points for Shepherd (8-5, 3-2) and Yves Moliva had 14 points. Ryan Peterson and Matt Deaner added 10 points each for the Rams. WVIAC WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - Shepherd University remained unbeaten in the West Virginia Conference with a fast start and 38-7 win over West Liberty on Saturday. The Rams (4-3, 4-0) jumped to a 20-0 lead in the first period. Senior quarterback Len Ferguson scored on a 5-yard run with 10:19 left to play in the opening period to cap a 12-play, 83-yard drive following the kickoff. On West Liberty's first possession, Rams' outside linebacker Ron Frazier blocked a punt and Chad Pence scooped the ball up and ran 42 yards for a score.

MEN'S BASKETBALL Shepherd 80, Fairmont State 75 FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Jonathan Motichka led all scorers with 27 points and Derek Gallagher came off the bench to add 15 points and nine rebounds for Shepherd in a WVIAC upset over Fairmont State (18-8, 11-8). Liki Turner had 12 points and Tucker Lucas scored 10 points for the Rams (12-14, 11-8). FAIRMONT, W.Va -- Junior Deante Steele ran back both a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns to lead Shepherd University to a 27-14 win over Fairmont State in a West Virginia Conference game at Duvall-Rosier Field on Saturday. Steele returned the opening kickoff 93 yards to give the Rams (2-1, 1-0) a quick 7-0 lead. Shepherd made it 13-0 minutes later when Steele fielded a Fairmont punt at the Rams 30-yard line and raced 70 yards. The extra point attempt was blocked by Drew Rossignol.
