Dorothy V. Everetts, 71, of Mercersburg, Pa., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa. A memorial service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., Mercersburg. Private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg. There will be no viewing. However, the family will receive friends a half-hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

An Army National Guardsman who was carrying a training rifle and wearing military desert camouflage and a ballistic vest was arrested Monday morning after he was spotted running near two Martinsburg schools, police and military officials said. Monday was the first day of classes for the 2012-13 school year in Berkeley County. William Everett Alemar, 23, of 1013 S. Raleigh St., Apt. 3 in Martinsburg, was charged with committing a terroristic act and wearing body armor while committing a felony offense, according to police and court records.

George M. “Buck” Everett Sr., 88, of Hancock, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at the home of his son, George M. Everett Jr., of Hancock. Born Aug. 20, 1923, in Hancock, he was the son of the late John and Hallie Jane Corbett Everett and the widower of Edna May Flowers Everett Divelbiss. He attended Hancock area schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in New Guinea and the South Philippines. He retired from Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown and had been employed by Fleetwood Industries in Hancock.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012 MEN'S BASKETBALL GERMANTOWN, Md. - Devin Miller scored a game-high 26 points, including two 3-pointers, and added nine rebounds to lead Hagerstown Community College to a 104-99 victory over Germantown in a Maryland JuCo game Wednesday night. Allister Chisholm posted a double-double with 24 points, including four 3-pointers, and 13 rebounds for the Hawks (13-2, 8-0). Antonio Jenifer had 15 points and Tione Womack added 13 points.

JULY 27, 1951-JUNE 25, 2011 Mr. John J. Sone, 59, of McClelland Ave., Boonsboro, Md., formerly of Bedford County, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home. Mr. Sone was born in Bedford on Friday, July 27, 1951, the son of Norma Jean (Bridaham) Sone of Bedford and the late Jacob B. “Jake” Sone. In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughter Kristi A., wife of Greg King, Windsor Mill, Md.; daughter Whitney H., wife of Caitlin Pittman, Mercerburg; and sister Barbara J., wife of Lawson Duvall, Bedford.

APRIL 20, 1934-APRIL 16, 2011 Gilbert E. Laisure, 77, of 307 Coneflower Drive, Williamsport, Md., passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011. He was born April 20, 1934, in Baltimore, Md., to the late Everett and Esther Laisure. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clara, also of Baltimore. He is also survived by a son, Gilbert Laisure Jr., 56, of Cumberland, and a sister, Margaret Sipple, 82, of Baltimore. Gilbert was a retired roofing contractor. A memorial service will be held on April 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 30 Nottingham Road, Hagerstown, Md., with Leslie Wolff officiating.

OCT. 10, 1927-JAN. 15, 2011 ARLINGTON, Va. — Margaret R. Everett, 83, of Arlington, died peacefully on Jan. 15, 2011, with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Everett, and the mother of Patricia A. Everett of Hagerstown, Md. and Pamela J. Everett of Arlington. She is also survived by grandson Dylan N. Everett of Arlington, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A memorial service will be held at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, Va., on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.

December 30, 2010 BOYS BASKETBALL EVERETT, Pa. — Justin Lewis had 15 points, five rebounds and two assists to lead Boonsboro past Bedford 54-44 in the championship game of the Everett Christmas Tournament on Thursday. Aaron Miranda had 10 points and eight rebounds and earned tournament MVP honors for the Warriors (3-4). Caleb Jardeleza had 13 points and eight rebounds and made the all-tournament team. Kurtis Lowery had five rebounds and Justin Jardeleza had five assists.
