Greencastle, Pa., Prayer Walk, the first Prayer Walk for Eternal Life will be this Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Greencastle-Antrim High School track.

Hazel Irene Jones, 100, passed peacefully into eternal life, Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Fahrney-Keedy Home in Boonsboro. Born Dec. 3, 1911, to Arthur and Emma (Wright) Obitts, she was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Thomas Sr.; her second husband, Edgar Jones; a son, Richard, who she always called "Sonny"; a great-granddaughter; a grandson; five brothers; and one sister. She is survived by a son, Charles Thomas Jr.; daughters, Barbara Churchey and Carolyn Bowman; and a stepdaughter, Cathy Cox; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild expected soon.

Robert G. “Butch” Brechbill Sr., 61, born Dec. 29, 1949, to the late Glenn R. and Evelyn Moats Brechbill, began his eternal life April 18, 2011. He was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Horchner, and four brothers, Glenn C., Gregory, Wayne and James N. Brechbill. He is survived by his life partner, caretaker and best friend, Susan H. Shirley; three sons, Robert G. Jr. and Matthew Paul of Hagerstown, and Timothy of Wellsville, N.Y.; five sisters, Betty D. Bard, Julie L. Poe, Debbie K. Long, Shirley Purnell and Judy Lindquest; two brothers, Michael S. and John Brechbill; and his extended family, Angela S. Capriolo of Charles Town, W.Va., Natalie S. Reel of Mount Airy, Md., Gina Y. Sharpe and Larry B. Shirley II of Hagerstown; and 13 grandchildren.

APRIL 11, 1924-MARCH 10, 2011 FREDERICK, Md. — Mrs. Josephine Marita DeLeo, 86, of Frederick, passed into eternal life on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 9:45 p.m. at the home of her granddaughter, surrounded by family. Born April 11, 1924, in Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry and Helen Cole. Josephine graduated from Altoona Catholic High School. She married Francis R. DeLeo on Feb. 28, 1949. After working as a government secretary for many years, she became a homemaker and cared for her family.

Who's brown? To the editor: I've just read a letter in the the April 7 Morning Herald titled "Wear brown" by Thomas Robertson of Frederick, Md. In this short, painful dissertation, Robertson stated that he has been "embarrassed by the president's arrogance, poor handling of foreign and domestic events, and outright lies and misinformation to the American public, the U.N. and the world. " My questions: 1. Where were you during the eight years of socialistic regime of the Clinton/Gore administration?

Masons hold open installation The Master, Wardens and Brethren of Antietam Lodge 197, A.F.&A.M. held their open installation of officers for 2006 on Jan. 17. In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Grand Lodge of Maryland, Antietam Lodge was afforded the right through special Masonic Dispensation to have an open Masonic communication for the local community. Through time-honored Masonic ritual, the line officers were installed to their respective stations by Deputy Grand Lecturers Frederick Reel, PM and Marvin Printz, PM. The Worshipful Master presented a Masonic Widow's pin to Mrs. Madeline Holder, and a special memorial service was held for her husband, Brother Richard Holder, who passed to the Celestial Lodge above during the past year.

Bible is right, there is hell To the editor: "Opinion is no excuse to leave facts in the dust" By G. F. Miller in the Herald-Mail March 10 edition ignores context of his fixated perceived opinion. Miller takes a statement of truth about no more sorrow, crying and pain and applies that verse to eternal damnation. That verse is not associated with judgment. It is associated with those that enter into everlasting fellowship with Jesus, the Lord of Lord?s and King of King?

Bible-believer offers a response to skeptical writer To the editor: Allow me to respond to "Let's not preach, let's talk" by Robert E. Ayrer of Falling Waters, W.Va., whose letter was printed in The Herald-Mail on Friday, Aug. 29. I want to respond, respectfully disagreeing with a couple of things he mentioned. But before I go any further, let me preface my remarks as follows: 1. I'm a senior, well up in years, yet I'm careful to say I don't know it all. However, I've learned a precious reality that encourages me greatly and it is this.
