The left shoulder of westbound Dual Highway near Manny's Home and Design Center was closed Tuesday morning and early afternoon while a cable television line was replaced, John Wisner of Trenching Unlimited is reporting. Traffic was not affected by the work. Wisner says the line was replaced because it snapped when the city put a manhole between Manny's Home and Designers and the Comfort Suites Hotel on Dual Highway. Antietam Cable contracted Trench Unlimited to fix the problem.

The project, a joint effort between the state, Washington County and city of Hagerstown, has been going on since August 2009. It included widening both Dual Highway (U.S. 40) and Edgewood Drive and creating a double left-turn lane from southbound Edgewood Drive to eastbound Dual Highway, among other improvements.
