Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., Vernon Hunter, lay leader, will be speaking at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday. Youth fun night will be held at Shepherdstown Youth Center on Wednesday this week at 7 p.m. Bible study at Asbury also begins at 7 p.m. Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will be celebrant/preacher this Sunday at the 10 a.m. single service this Sunday. Sue Stull will be lay assisting minister. Music will feature the adult parish choir, Trinity Ringers and the contemporary ensemble of singers and instrumentalists.

St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Stephanie Yancy will preach at the 8 a.m. communion service this Sunday. At the 10:15 a.m. service, a Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols will be presented by the parish and youth choirs. Communion will also be celebrated. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9 a.m. including an adult forum led by Yancy. St. Mark's Lutheran Church, this Sunday there will be chapel communion at 8:15 a.m., Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. and the Sunday school Christmas program at 10:30 a.m. The sermon is Emmanuel, God With Us. There will be communion for shut-ins at 2 p.m. Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Pastor Philip Fogarty will preach at the 8 and 11 a.m. services this Sunday on the topic, The Unexpected One. Pastor Torben Aarsand will be celebrant.
