St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, the Rev. Scott Bellows will deliver the sermon at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services this Sunday. The parish choir will present special music at the later service. Christian education for all ages begins at 9 a.m. Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh will lead the 11 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Scheming Demons. There will be a music ministry appreciation on the theme, Let's Give Him the Glory, this Sunday at 4 p.m. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, today there will be blessing of the animals in the church parking lot at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Mooney will be speaking at 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Again I Say Rejoice.

St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Stephanie Yancy will preach at the 8 a.m. communion service this Sunday. At the 10:15 a.m. service, a Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols will be presented by the parish and youth choirs. Communion will also be celebrated. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 9 a.m. including an adult forum led by Yancy. St. Mark's Lutheran Church, this Sunday there will be chapel communion at 8:15 a.m., Sunday school at 9:15 a.m. and the Sunday school Christmas program at 10:30 a.m. The sermon is Emmanuel, God With Us. There will be communion for shut-ins at 2 p.m. Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Pastor Philip Fogarty will preach at the 8 and 11 a.m. services this Sunday on the topic, The Unexpected One. Pastor Torben Aarsand will be celebrant.
