If statistics mean anything, the Hagerstown Suns knew they needed to be near-perfect to have a shot against Dylan Bundy. They weren't … but Delmarva's starting pitcher nearly was. Bundy, the Baltimore Orioles' top pitching prospect, coasted through five innings, allowing just one hit on the way to his first professional victory as the Shorebirds grabbed a 3-1 win over the Suns on Sunday before 1,991 fans at Municipal Stadium. The 19-year-old right-hander retired the first 12 Suns he faced before Matt Skole broke the streak with a first-pitch double into the right-field corner leading off the fifth.

Dylan Bundy knows you have to walk before you can even start to think about running. Maybe that's why the 19-year-old pitcher is able to take everything in stride. Bundy, the Baltimore Orioles' top pitching prospect, continued his march through Single-A competition as he controlled the Hagerstown Suns for five innings - allowing just one hit in a 3-1 win on Sunday for his first professional victory. It was just another step in the right direction. “I'm just taking it day by day,” Bundy said.

Brian Goodwin doesn't even have to get a hit to make a difference for the Hagerstown Suns. His feet are good enough. Goodwin drew a leadoff walk in the ninth inning and took third on an errant pickoff throw to set up Jason Martinson's one-out RBI single to give the Suns a come-from-behind 5-4 victory over Delmarva on Friday before 2,347 fans at Municipal Stadium. Goodwin, a Washington Nationals first-round selection in the 2011 draft - was activated on Friday and played his first game since April 9 when he suffered a leg injury.
