Five people were arrested and about an ounce of crack cocaine was seized after police conducted a search Saturday at 118 Centre St., according to the Martinsburg Police Department. More than $1,300 in cash also was seized when members of the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, city police and West Virginia State Police searched the home off East Burke Street, according to a news release from Sgt. J.E. Darby. According to Darby, those arrested were Shasta C. Myers, 21, of 35 Perry Drive, Falling Waters, W.Va.; Luis M. Delgado, 21, of 3551 East Tremont, Bronx, N.Y.; Eric Junior Donaldson, 19, of 35 Perry Drive, Falling Waters; Bobby T. Hoyt, 40, of 118 Centre St.; and Eusebio D. Booth, 33, of 118 Centre St. All five were charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine/conspiracy.

A Hagerstown man was charged with possession of crack cocaine after he was pulled over during a traffic stop Wednesday night in Frederick, Md., the Frederick Police Department said. Eddie Paul Jouvert, 43, of 50 Summit Ave., also was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, according to a police news release. Officers said a K-9 unit detected the drugs after Jouvert was pulled over at 9:37 p.m. in the area of Key Parkway and Bel Air Lane.

waynesboro@herald-mail.com WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Crack cocaine is starting to make inroads in the borough, Police Chief Ray Schultz said Wednesday, and police are stepping up their efforts to root it out. "It's moving in," Schultz said. "It's new to Waynesboro and we're concentrating on Main Street. " Schultz said police have been getting complaints from residents about street dealing, loitering and trash, especially on Main Street. The Franklin County Drug Task Force is involved in the drug investigations, which have netted three drug arrests in Waynesboro in the last two weeks, police said.

Martinsburg police arrested a man early Friday morning after a foot chase and seized about 29 grams of crack cocaine from him, according to the Martinsburg Police Department. Derrick S. Spencer, aka Fat Head, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Martinsburg police Detective J.D. Luciano said in a news release. Spencer, 34, was detained in the area of Carroll  and Vicky Bullett streets just after midnight, the release said. The arrest was the culmination of drug investigations  Thursday night by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force and Martinsburg police, the release said.

A Hagerstown man was sentenced Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court to 10 years in prison for distribution of crack cocaine. Luis G. Caldero, 31, of 1040 Brinker Drive, Apt. 302, pleaded guilty before Circuit Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr., who sentenced him to 20 years in prison with 10 of those years suspended. Long also ordered that Caldero be placed on probation for three years after his release from prison. Additional charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed as part of the plea agreement, court records show.

Initially charged with robbing a Washington County Narcotics Task Force informant during a drug deal, a Hagerstown man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court to conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. Judge Daniel P. Dwyer sentenced Ryheim Maurice Pearson, 21, of 1062 Ross St. to six years in prison. Charges of armed robbery, robbery, attempted robbery, theft and making false statements to police were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. "I do what I do to try and get drugs off the street.

HAGERSTOWN -- A Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute fake crack cocaine was given a suspended sentence Wednesday by Washington County Circuit Judge Donald E. Beachley and ordered to leave town. "I'll take the probation. Goodbye Hagerstown," David James Daniels, 54, said after the sentencing hearing as he waited for his attorney to drive him to a bus station. Daniels, of 335 Main St., Bentleyville, Pa., pleaded guilty to the charge May 6. In exchange for the plea, charges of distribution of a narcotic, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were dropped, according to online court records.

A Washington County Circuit Court jury Tuesday convicted a Hagerstown man of selling crack cocaine a short distance from the Hagerstown courthouse where the trial was held. Gregory Harris, 45, was found guilty of distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine. Judge Donald E. Beachley sentenced Harris to 10 years in state prison without parole, according to Robert Veil, the supervising state's attorney for the Washington County Narcotics Task Force. “I think it's an adequate sentence,” Veil said.

A preliminary hearing for a Summit Point, W.Va., man on charges of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine is scheduled for April 5 at 11 a.m. before Jefferson County Magistrate M.P. Rissler, according to court records. Julio Cesar Torres, 34, of 472 Shirley Road, was arrested March 18 during an investigation of the theft of a flat-screen television from a residence and a power tool from Lowe's, court records said. Police said they found 218 pieces of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $11,000 in Torres' bed, according to court records.

A Hagerstown woman was sentenced this week in Washington County Circuit Court to six years in prison - three for distribution of cocaine and three more for neglect of a minor, according to court records. Kelly Lynn Cruz, 38, formerly of 139 High St., entered the pleas in separate cases Tuesday before Washington County Circuit Judge Donald E. Beachley, court records said. In exchange for the plea, other drug-related charges in the two cases were dismissed, court records said. On Oct. 9, 2012, and again on Nov. 27, the Washington County Narcotics Task Force used a confidential informant to make $200 purchases of crack cocaine from Cruz at her home, according to the application for statement of charges.

Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of 11 people in Martinsburg this week on drug-related charges as a result of an investigation over the past several weeks, Martinsburg Police Department announced. Those arrested were: Richard Mikel Bowers, 25, of 312 N. Maple Ave., charged with single counts of distribution of heroin and conspiracy and two counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin. Brittany Ann Ulery, 26, of 312 N. Maple Ave., charged with single counts of distribution of heroin and conspiracy to distribute heroin.

Two Martinsburg residents get prison on drug charges MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two Martinsburg residents were sentenced last week by Judge Gina M. Groh in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg, according to U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II. Rebecca Fowler Faircloth, 52, was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison to be followed by six years of supervised release. Faircloth entered a plea of guilty on Oct. 11, 2012, to distribution of crack cocaine on April 29, 2011.

A 37-year old Baltimore man was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg to more than 21 years in prison after admitting to dealing more heroin and crack cocaine near Winchester Avenue Elementary School. Kevin Edward Moses was sentenced to 262 months or 21 years and 10 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld's office announced Tuesday. Following his release, Moses is to be placed on supervised release for six years, according to a news release from Ihlenfeld's office.

Police arrested three men, including two from Hagerstown, after a drug deal Thursday with a confidential informant at the Spring Mills McDonald's restaurant. Larry G. Harris, 26, of 1401 Haven Road, Apt. F22, and Nino J. Smith, 21, of 310 Jonathan St., both of Hagerstown, and Johon A. Harrell, 21, of Dumfries, Va., were each arraigned Friday on single counts of possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, distribution of crack cocaine and conspiracy, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Judge Dana Moylan Wright told Shamar Tahi Anderson on Thursday that he will not be eligible for parole until he has served the first 10 years of his sentence for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Anderson, 33, of 241 S. Prospect St., was scheduled for a jury trial Thursday, but entered into a plea agreement after a bench conference.

Two people were in the Washington County Detention Center Friday after being taken into custody on drug-trafficking charges involving crack cocaine and heroin a day earlier, according to Washington County District Court records. Adrien Odell Love, 23, with a listed address on Bear Creek Drive, Hagerstown, was charged with a dozen counts, including two counts each possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute narcotics, as well as attempting to distribute a large amount of narcotics, possession of a large amount of narcotics and four counts of possession of narcotics.
