A man charged with the 2011 robbery of a Hagerstown convenience store was acquitted on all charges by a jury Wednesday in Washington County Circuit Court. The trial was the second on the armed robbery charge for Lee Colby Morton, 38, of Hagerstown. In July he was granted a mistrial when one of the victims testified that one of three men who robbed United Petroleum, 890 Pennsylvania Ave., on Dec. 16, 2011, had tattoos on his face. Before that trial began, Judge Donald E. Beachley granted a motion by defense attorney Andrea Chee-a-tow that victims George and Candace Ghassemi not be allowed to identify Morton, who has facial tattoos, from the witness stand.

There are Christmas lights and then there's the Wilson Family Christmas Lights with more than 80,000 separate beams that could possibly guide Santa's sleigh to Chambersburg. But the visual beauty is just the obvious aspect of the display. The display is in memory of Colbie A. Daywalt, who lost his battle with cancer at age 7, and all donations collected from visitors are given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. When Trevor Johns, 27, of Chambersburg, decided to decorate his grandmother LaWanda Wilson's house at 490 Starr Ave. last year it was a labor of love in Colbie's memory.

Colby Robinson of South Hagerstown High School has been in the Senate. Some of their duties during the sessions are mundane — like handing out bills and fetching coffee — but they're getting an up-close look at the Maryland General Assembly and its members. They are scheduled to be pages for five days this week, then return for another week in March.
