A Greencastle, Pa., man has been hired by the Waynesboro Area School Board as the school district's new business administrator at a starting annual salary of $80,000. Robert D. Walker Jr. is a certified public accountant who led or participated in audits of several southcentral school districts, including Chambersburg Area School District, according to a news release. Walker replaces former business administrator Caroline Dean, who resigned in August to take a position in the Fairfield (Pa.)

Anna Olszewski, a recent graduate of Boonsboro High School, is the recipient of the Future Teacher Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship. The $600 scholarship is awarded annually by Sigma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international sorority for women educators, to a senior girl who plans to pursue a degree in education. Anna will attend Clarion University with plans to become an elementary school teacher.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Two Washington County residents were recognized at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Scholarships and Awards Convocation. Kellyn Cole of Williamsport was a recipient of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Loyalty Scholarship. Cole was also recognized for her academic achievement in making the fall 2008 dean's list. Phylicia Hammond of Hagerstown was a recipient of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Loyalty Scholarship.

Tri-State Ravens Nest No. 12 Eighth Annual Awards Banquet will be held Saturday at the Four Points Sheraton in Hagerstown. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner at 6. The club will present scholarships to three senior Tri-State area high school football players: Steven Munson of Clear Spring, Dan Campbell of Greencastle-Antrim and Tyler Dopson of Martinsburg. Munson was a team captain and quarterback for the Blazers as a senior. He was a Herald-Mail All-Area honorable mention pick.

DePaoli-Martin Tera Lynne Martin and Brian Michael DePaoli were married Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, in Pittsburgh. The bride is the daughter of Dean and Terri Martin of Smithsburg. The bridegroom is the son of Kathleen DePaoli and Michael DePaoli, both of Erie, Pa. The bride is a 1997 graduate of Smithsburg High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2002. She also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2005.

Wolterstorff-Sturniolo Gary and Janice Sturniolo announce the engagement of their son, Todd Sturniolo, to Heidi Wolterstorff, daughter of Ivan and Patricia Wolterstorff of Grand Rapids, Mich. Ms. Wolterstorff received a bachelor of music degree in harp performance from University of Michigan School of Music in 2001 and received a master of music degree in harp performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2003. She is a freelance harpist. Mr. Sturniolo is a 1997 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, received bachelor's degrees in trombone performance and music education from Lebanon Valley College in 2001 and received a master of music degree in trombone performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2003.
