COLLEGE PARK, Md. - There is only one thing tougher than holding that line for the University of Maryland football team. That would be forming one. Seven games into the season and the Terrapins are at the bare minimum - five healthy and experienced offensive linemen and not much more than that on the defensive line - as they head into what has become a key Atlantic Coast Conference Atlantic Division game on Saturday against Clemson....

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - What can the University of Maryland football team do for an encore after accomplishing something that many thought the Terps would never do? Answer: Do something it has never done before under coach Ralph Friedgen. There was still a slight buzz around the campus in the aftermath of the Terps' stunning victory over then-No. 8 Boston College. COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Maryland tried for a blackout on Saturday. Meanwhile, Florida State got the knockout. The Seminoles used speed and ball control to thoroughly dominate the No. 23 Terrapins in a 37-3 rout that turned Maryland from favorite to forlorn in the Atlantic Division half of the chase for a berth in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. "We didn't play very well obviously," said Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen. "I'm very disappointed in the game we played, especially when we had a lot at stake.

University of Maryland men's basketball coach pointed out a Washington County coaching legend in his opening address to Terrapin Club members Tuesday night at Fountain Head Country Club. "He's recovering from a rotator cuff injury that he says is from throwing baseballs. ... I think it's from throwing basketballs. " By the time Williams said those final two words, virtually everyone who sat before him knew the next words out of his mouth.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Colin Kaepernick limped with every step, whether running for a touchdown or walking up a platform to accept an award. Nevada's sophomore quarterback did everything he could, even with a balky right ankle, and it still wasn't enough for Wolf Pack to best one of the big boys from a BCS conference. Kaepernick threw for a Humanitarian Bowl-record 370 yards, but Da'Rel Scott ran for 174 yards and two touchdowns in just 1 1/2 quarters to help the Terrapins beat Nevada 42-35 on Tuesday.
