Mrs. Margaret I. Hinman, 92, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Samuel James Hinman, who preceded her in death in 1972. Born June 2, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of Thomas Bernard and Mary Alice Hollinger Spickler. Mrs. Hinman attended Shiloh United Methodist Church. Surviving is her daughter with whom she resided, Patricia A. Eyler of Hagerstown; as well as seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Patricia A. Padula (Patsy Forrest), 73, of Branson, Mo., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. Patricia Ann Padula was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Hagerstown, Md., to Austin and Vera (Myers) Forrest. She was a legal secretary during her lifetime in Hagerstown. Patricia retired to Florida, then moved to Branson about five years ago. She had attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, Md., and Faith Life Church in Branson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Padula; and her parents.

Linnie Catherine Shoemaker, 87, formerly of Hedgesville, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Williamsport Retirement Home in Williamsport, Md. Born Nov. 26, 1925, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Ezra Ausherman and Rachel Catherine Blickenstaff Ausherman Rinehart. She was raised by Samuel and Linnie Ausherman. Her husband, George Lester Shoemaker, preceded her in death in 1999. Linnie was a member of Broadfording Bible Brethren Church in Hagerstown.

Betty Jane Brumbaugh, 69, of Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Cearfoss, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown. Born Feb. 12, 1944, in Rawlings, Md., she was the daughter of the late Joseph William Mills and Carrie Virginia Flannigan Mills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lee Brumbaugh, in 1995. Betty attended Clear Spring, Md., schools and Mountain View Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and an avid bingo player. She is survived by a daughter, Jackie J. Brumbaugh of Hagerstown; a son, Jeff A. Brumbaugh of Hagerstown; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

James Vincent "Vince" Hellane, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his home following a long battle with cancer. Vince will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his fondness for making others laugh. Born June 9, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Joseph G. "Jack" Hellane and Ruth Maugans Hellane. Vince graduated from St. Mary's High School and Columbia Business College. He was a Korean War veteran, serving with the 11th Airborne Division.

Ruth Lillian Stacer, 97, of Gilbert Hills Drive, Hagerstown, Md., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Born Aug. 28, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian C. Culmer Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Joseph Stacer, on Aug. 16, 2000. They were married for 65 years. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Ruth Bishop of Hagerstown; two sons, Raymond Stacer of Hagerstown and Arthur J. Stacer of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

Maude Anna Nutter, 75, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born Sunday, March 28, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt Charles Norcross Sr. and the late Isabel B. (Staubs) Norcross. She was employed with the Washington County Board of Education at the cafeteria at Western Heights Middle School, she was later employed and retired from Good Humor Breyers. She most recently was employed at Funkstown Firehouse Grill.

Harold Gilbert Morris Jr., 61, of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his home. Born March 3, 1951, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harold G. Morris Sr. and Doris E. Rohrback Morris. He was a 1969 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He enjoyed working with and training horses. He was employed by the city of Hagerstown. He is survived by his wife, Debra Morris, who were together for 28 years; a daughter, Kelli Lynn; two sons, Lane G. Morris and John D. Morris; a brother, Greg Morris; four grandsons; two great-grandsons; an aunt, Doris "Dottie" Baker and husband, Harold "Bud"; niece, Carla Morris; and numerous cousins.

Fred Burton Williar Sr., 82, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at his home. Born Jan. 21, 1931 in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Harry Franklin and Martha Helen Davis Williar. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was employed with Pangborn Corporation for 43 years, retiring in January 1994. He was also a member of Boonsboro American Legion Post 10 and Washington County AMVETS Post 10. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports, and played baseball for Hagerstown Athletics and Clear Spring, in the Washington County independent leagues.

Betty Jane McLucas, 81, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Meritus Medical Center. Born Friday, Feb. 6, 1931, in Pondsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lee R. Grams and the late Dorothea A. (Humrichouse) Bice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ray McLucas, in 2004. She was a graduate of Smithsburg High School and was an active member of Hagerstown Bible Church, where she served as a deaconess. She is survived by her two daughters, Debra Jane Bennett of Chambersburg, Pa., and Deneen JoAnn McLucas; three sons, Gordon Ray McLucas of Simpsonsville, S.C., William Rodney McLucas of Denver, N.C., and S. Ryan McLucas of Gettysburg, Pa.; two sisters, Marie Fahnestock of Cascade, Md., and Anna Mae Kendall of Hagerstown; two brothers, Robert Grams of Clear Spring, Md., and Richard Grams of Charlotte, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
