Two Hagerstown men have been charged in a Friday carjacking in Frederick, Md., that involved the robbery of a courier, according to the Frederick Police Department. Steven McGloster of Mulberry Avenue and Mark Anthony Owens of the 100 block of East Franklin Street were each charged with robbery, armed robbery, carjacking, armed carjacking, theft plus $1,000 and conspiracy to commit each of the charges, Sgt J.P. Hayer said. Police said they also have a third suspect in the case.

A Berkeley County grand jury Wednesday decided against  further investigation of two Martinsburg police officers who shot a man multiple times after he carjacked a woman and her 4-year-old daughter at Martinsburg Mall. The jury concluded the Sept. 26 shooting of Michael Kelly Silver, 42, by Martinsburg Police Lt. Terry Stanley and Cpl. Adam Albaugh was "justifiable" after considering evidence compiled from "a substantial portion" of the investigation by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely said.

A third person has been charged in a carjacking that occurred last Friday in Frederick, according to the Frederick Police Department. Terri Denise Minor, 44, who police allege was the driver of a get-away vehicle in the case, was taken into custody in Hagerstown, Frederick Police said in a news release Wednesday. No address for Minor was given in the release. Minor has been charged with robbery, armed robbery, carjacking, armed carjacking, theft plus $1,000 and conspiracy-related offenses, the release said.

Hagerstown police Wednesday night continued to search for two males involved in the armed robbery and carjacking of a China King restaurant delivery driver Tuesday night. Kwokkuen Leung, 55, was attempting to make a delivery in the 400 block of North Potomac Street at about 10:40 p.m. when he was approached by two males, one of whom was carrying a knife, police said. The pair assaulted Leung, robbed him and stole his vehicle, then fled eastbound on Broadway, according to a city police news release.

A Frostburg man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for carjacking his 71-year-old neighbor. Jonathan Bittner, 31, apologized in court Tuesday for hurting his neighbor and to his own family. The Times-News of Cumberland reported that the victim told police Bittner entered his home early April 28 and struck him on the face and head while demanding cash.  Police said Bittner then forced the man into the victim's car, got behind the wheel and crashed it on Interstate 68.   They said Bittner fled, leaving the victim to drive his disabled car to a Cumberland exit.

The Hagerstown Police Department was investigating a possible carjacking shortly after a pickup truck crashed in the city's North End and injured seven occupants of the truck Saturday night. Seven people, who had been riding in a red Chevrolet pickup truck, were taken to Washington County Hospital, including some with potentially serious injuries, Lt. Rick Reynolds said. Police believe that shortly after the truck crashed, someone carjacked a black 2003 Honda Element SUV with Maryland registration 054M483, Reynolds said.

A woman's vehicle was carjacked as she parked in her driveway at about midnight Wednesday in a housing development near Hagerstown, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded around midnight to the 17900 block of Golf View Drive near the intersection of Downsville Pike and Oak Ridge Drive for a report of a carjacking, according to a sheriff's office news release. An investigation determined that the victim was approached by a man after she parked her 2006 silver Kia Sedona in the driveway of her residence.

A Waynesboro, Pa., man was being held in a Virginia jail in connection with a carjacking that was reported Saturday afternoon in a residential area of Waynesboro, police said. Curtis Wade Munday, 32, of Strickler Ave., was charged in a warrant that was obtained Monday by Waynesboro police with one count each of robbery of a motor vehicle and simple assault; and two counts each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, according to a news release from the Waynesboro Police Department.

A Waynesboro man suspected in a carjacking at the intersection of West Third and South Potomac streets was apprehended early Sunday in Virginia. Waynesboro police said they were working to file criminal charges related to the incident. Police were called to the intersection at 5:53 p.m. Saturday for a reported carjacking. Police said in a news release that someone approached a vehicle stopped for a red traffic signal, pulled the driver from the vehicle and fled in the vehicle. Police did not identify the type of vehicle or say whether the victim of the carjacking was hurt.

A man told police that his car was stolen from him while he was driving on Golf Course Road east of Martinsburg early Sunday, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department. About two hours later, the Frederick County (Md.) Sheriff's Office said they had found the car at the scene of a commercial burglary, police said. Frederick County authorities said they found three people not far from the 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer and the victim in the car theft identified the three people as the ones involved, according to a news release from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department.

Two Hagerstown residents have been charged with stealing a van as it was stopped Sunday on U.S. 40 near Greenbrier State Park, Maryland State Police said. James Odans Jr., 40, and Megan Marie Sweeney, 25, were charged with one count each of theft of a motor vehicle, theft less than $1,000, theft less than $10,000 and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to a news release from state police. Troopers said that William Newton, 67, of Frederick, Md., told police he was giving two people a ride from Williamsport to Frederick.

A Hagerstown man was charged last week with armed robbery and armed carjacking for allegedly taking a vehicle at knifepoint from a restaurant delivery driver in July. Ashton Lee Frisby, 18, of 1212 Lawton Lane, also is charged with robbery, first- and second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, carjacking, theft of $1,000 to $10,000, and unlawful taking of a vehicle, according to Washington County District Court records. Frisby was charged in July with possession of a stolen vehicle, records said.

The man who carjacked a woman and her 4-year-old daughter Monday night and was fatally shot by police during a brief standoff at a bank near Martinsburg Mall was wanted by police for other crimes in at least three states. Michael Kelly Silver, 42, whose death notice says he is from Berkeley Springs, W.Va., was pronounced dead at City Hospital in Martinsburg after two Martinsburg police officers shot him in the ATM lane of the drive-through at My Bank! First United Bank & Trust at 980 Foxcroft Ave., police said.
