On Sunday, the youth at Covenant Presbyterian Church will wash and vacuum vehicles. A $10 donation is suggested. Bring cars and trucks anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. into the lower parking lot.  The church is at 11833 Greenhill Drive off Jefferson Boulevard between Robinwood Drive and Eastern Boulevard. Pen Mar Park The Ray Birely Orchestra will perform Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Pen Mar Park as the summer music series continues. The concerts are free, but donations are accepted.

It may be summer, but the Hancock High School Band Boosters are already anticipating the new school year. The boosters are holding a car wash Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the high school. Have your car or truck washed and give the boosters a donation toward band equipment, uniforms and other needs for the upcoming marching season. Breakfast in the Park Join members of the local Masonic Lodge for Breakfast in the Park Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m. in the Lions pavilion in Widmeyer Park.

Bester Elementary teachers volunteered to work at a car wash Wednesday to benefit the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program at the school. The youth of Paramount Baptist Church will hold a car wash on Saturday, June 5, from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. at Auto-Zone off Longmeadow Road in the North Village Shopping Center. Donations will go to benefit the youth group. Gospel tracts will be available for free.

Award Beauty School held a car wash Friday in an alley between East Antietam and East Baltimore streets to raise money for a hair show in the fall. The hair show will take place in Frederick, Md., according to Phillip Greathead, an instructor at the school. The date has not yet been set, he said. In addition to Award Beauty School, two schools in Washington, D.C., a school in Frederick, and a school in Chambersburg, Pa., will compete. Library book sale needs volunteers The Williamsport Memorial Library book sale will be held in the basement of the library on Aug. 24, 25 and 26, in conjunction with Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Days. The library will be accepting donated books until the end of July. A schedule for volunteers will begin Aug. 1. Anyone interested in supporting the sale by volunteering two hours, contact the library.

It's time to register for fall soccer in Clear Spring. Registration costs $50 for the first child and $10 less for each consecutive child. It will cost $60 after the July 20 deadline.
