The Waynesboro Borough Council on Tuesday decided to enter into an agreement for a new traffic signal with the company redeveloping Waynesboro Mall. The council will apply for a traffic signal at Sunnyside Avenue and East Main Street on behalf of J.C. BAR Properties Inc. That application will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The Camp Hill, Pa., company will bear the costs of the light, its installation and engineering, Borough Solicitor Sam Wiser said.

Daigneault, who covered the 3.2-mile layout in 17:28, was joined on the All-League team by teammates Patrick Jones (18:15) and Kevin Proctor (18:22) who finished third and fourth.

Dave Reeder, a longtime Washington County Public Schools administrator, will be the next superintendent for the Camp Hill School District southwest of Harrisburg, Pa., according to the school system's website and Reeder. Reeder, of Greencastle, Pa., is director of secondary education for Washington County Public Schools. His last day in that position is Thursday; he starts his new job Monday, Reeder said. Whether the local director's position will be filled will be left up to Washington County's new superintendent, Clayton Wilcox, Interim Superintendent Stan Schaub said after Tuesday's school board meeting.

Born Nov. 26, 1926, in Smithsburg, Md., Elva was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Pearl Ridenour Smith. A graduate of Smithsburg High School, Elva was of the Protestant faith. She is survived by her son, Steven L. Dress and his wife, Donise, of Dover, Pa. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy J. Dress; a daughter, Cecelia Cox; and three brothers, her twin Elvin Ray Smith, Ivan Smith and Grover Smith Jr. Services, under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, will be private.
