BOYS SOCCER Calvary 4, Grace Academy 0 CRESAPTOWN, Md. -- Brandon Kendall scored two goals and Austin Potts and Jared McKenzie each added a goal as Calvary Christian shut out Grace Academy on Friday in both teams' season opener in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference. BOYS SOCCER Grace 6, Calvary 1 Luke Bunting scored two goals and Andy Michael had a goal and two assists to lead Grace Academy to a Mason Dixon Christian Conference victory over Calvary Christian on Saturday. Spencer Horst added a goal and an assist for Grace (15-1-1, 12-1), which led 3-0 at the half. Kenny Frederickson and Jamie Hormine each scored goals in the win. Zack Morgan had two assists and Caleb Bushman had one. Brandon Kendall scored Calvary's goal.

Nicole Gaylor had 33 digs, Ashton Hinnant had 18 kills and seven blocks, Christi Jackson had 12 kills and five blocks, Hannah Barnes had 16 digs, 20 service points and three aces, Hannah Gaylor had 11 digs and nine service points and Hannah Muller had 13 digs and six service points for the Eagles (6-0, 5-0)

Saturday, September 7, 2013 PREP FOOTBALL BALTIMORE - North Hagerstown intercepted five passes to preserve a 20-16 season-opening win over Milford Mill Academy on Saturday. Isaiah Keyes highlighted the defensive performance with three interceptions - tying a school record - and returned one 92 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter, breaking a 7-7 tie. Bobby Brennan and Austin Stone also had interceptions for the Hubs, who host Urbana on Thursday. Keyes also scored from the 4 in the first quarter, and Preston Carey bolted 58 yards in the fourth to give the Hubs a 20-14 lead.

Heritage Academy capped off an unbeaten baseball season with a 10-5 win over Shalom Christian in the championship game of the Mason Dixon Christian Conference tournament on Monday at Grace Academy. “I just wanted to get guys on base and steal,” Heritage coach Jeff Kriner said. “I think our speed on the field was the biggest thing and that made the difference. Whenever Shalom had a pretty big inning, we answered back with one of our own. “This was our second straight tournament title and the fifth one for our three seniors, since they were in the eighth grade.” Those seniors - Collin Poyle, Bryce Nigh and Bubba Kriner - are the first three hitters in the order for Heritage (10-0)

Bubba Kriner had three hits, including a triple, and David Fisler and Ethan Nield had three hits each for the Eagles (6-0, 6-0), who rapped out 17 hits. Alex Cosner scored 19 points and had 17 rebounds to lead Heritage (13-1, 9-1) and Ben Cosner scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Bryce Nigh had eight assists and five steals. Monday, January 8, 2013 BOYS BASKETBALL Alex Cosner had 23 points and a career-high 22 rebounds to lead Heritage Academy to a 66-40 victory over Calvary Christian in Mason Dixon Christian Conference action Monday. Chris Harrell had 17 points, including two 3-pointers, nine rebounds and eight assists and Ben Cosner had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles (5-1, 4-1). Tyler Michaels had 15 points and Matt Dillow had 12 points for Calvary Christian, which was outscored 31-13 in the first half.

Monday, May 28,2012 ADULT BASEBALL Former North Hagerstown pitcher Colby Fisher tossed a four-hit shutout on Monday to lead the Hagerstown Braves to a 5-0 victory over the Brunswick Orioles and the championship of the Reno Powell Memorial Day tournament. Fisher went the distance as the Braves opened the season with a 6-0 record. Shepherd University star Nathan Minnich had three hits and three RBIs and North Hagerstown junior Andrew Yacyk had a run-scoring single.
