Stanley Leroy White, 77, of Brunswick, Md., died Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital. The service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Second Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Hagerstown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Williamsport. Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home Inc.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013 PREP BASEBALL BRUNSWICK, Md. - After losing two games to Brunswick during the regular season by healthy scores, Boonsboro turned the tables on the Railroaders in the postseason. After 12-2 and 10-1 losses during the regular season, Boonsboro put together one of its finest games of the season in turning back the Railroaders 6-1 in the Maryland Class 1A West region East section semifinals Tuesday. Boonsboro (8-11-1) will hit the road again today to face Clear Spring (14-4)

With arm problems and a backlog of games, North Hagerstown and Brunswick have each been forced to reach deep into their pitching staffs. For North, things turned positive Friday afternoon as Cole Conrad led the Hubs back to the winning track with a 9-3 decision over Brunswick in an MVAL Antietam matchup. North's top three hurlers - John Britton, Zane Schreiber and Andrew Yacyk - are nursing arm discomfort and with a game this morning against Catoctin, followed with games Monday and Tuesday, the Hubs (15-1, 10-1)

Monday, April 29, 2013 BOYS LACROSSE St. Maria Goretti 13, Trinity 6 FAIRFAX, Va. - Mike Ewing had five goals and four assists and Matt Casto had four goals and four assists for St. Maria Goretti in a 13-6 Metro Independent Lacrosse League victory over Trinity Christian on Monday. Morgan Kenworthy had two goals and an assist for the Gaels (11-6, 5-2) while Wyatt Derr had a goal and an assist, Graham Horst had a goal, Willie Spinnler had an assist and Mike Fairley had 10 saves in the victory.
