YOUTH GYMNASTICS Lohman 4th all-around at state meet FRUITLAND, Md. -- Bethany Lohman, 9, of Sharpsburg recently competed Level 4 9-10 age division at the Maryland state championships. GIRLS BASKETBALL INWOOD, W.Va. - Rachel Boyd had 14 points and Amanda Vance added 12 as Musselman held off Hancock 54-51 in a Potomac Valley Conference matchup on Thursday. The Panthers (3-8, 0-2), who trailed by 11 going into the fourth quarter, had a chance to cap their comeback in the final seconds, but the tying 3-pointer was off and Musselman (3-5, 3-3) held on. St. Maria Goretti's Gael Center will host the Mason Dixon Christian Conference's final four teams Saturday for the semifinals and finals of the MDCC Tournament. New Life Christian (12-4) and Cumberland Valley Christian (12-4) will open play in the first semifinal at 9:30 a.m., followed by Grace Academy (16-0) facing Broadfording (15-5) at 11. The third-place game starts at 1:30 p.m., with the final set for 3. This season is the first that the semifinals and finals will all be played at the same place on one day. "This is new for us," Grace coach Diana Serafini said.
