Anne Drabish Conrad, 94, of Emmitsburg, Md., died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at St. Catherine Nursing Center in Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 19, from 3 to 4 p.m. at St. Rita Parish, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Sunday, Aug. 19, at 4 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, Emmitsburg.

waynesboro@herald-mail.com BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - It may not be the "Thrilla in Manila," the touted fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier some 30 years ago, but professional wrestling fans can see two aging grapplers take on the youngsters Saturday at the Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue Hall. Wrestling fans in the Armed Forces in Iraq also can see the matches, dubbed "War on the Mountain," on VCR tapes that Mike Pryor, owner of Mountain Shadows Restaurant in Blue Ridge Summit, will tape and send overseas at the request of relatives and friends of the GIs. As of Thursday, Pryor said he has had requests to send tapes to sons, husbands, nephews and friends fighting in Iraq from a dozen area residents from Hagerstown, Smithsburg, Clear Spring, Hancock, Frederick, Md., Chambersburg, Pa., and Waynesboro, Pa. By LISA GRAYBEAL Staff Writer, Waynesboro BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - University Press of America is accepting applications for employment and will begin holding job interviews Friday and Saturday at their new location at the former TAB Books/McGraw-Hill complex on Monterey Avenue. University Press of America President Jed Lyons said the company started contacting displaced McGraw-Hill employees Tuesday for possible employment. The company also will advertise job openings in local newspapers, he said.

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - University Press of America, a major academic book publisher with offices and warehouses in Blue Ridge Summit, plans to double the amount of warehouse space here with construction to begin in the spring. cont. from news page University Press bought the Blue Ridge Summit facilities from McGraw-Hill in February 1997 and moved its customer service and credit collection operations there, said George Franzak, chief financial officer for the publishing company.

Jean Irene McCleaf Benchoff, 84, of The Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, Pa., and formerly of 15348 Summit Farm Drive in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at the nursing home. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa. The service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fountaindale Union Cemetery.

Edouarda Mary “Edgie” Bridgers Davis, 91, a resident of Michaux Manor, Fayetteville, Pa., and formerly of 12488 Monterey Lane, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the nursing home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa. The service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Hammann officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.

(Smith) "Peggy" McCleaf, 85, of 13365 Flohr Lane, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., entered into eternal rest at 1:43 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa. She was born on July 28, 1924, in Boonsboro, Md.; she was the daughter of the late Benjamin L. and Henrietta Mae (Foltz) Smith. She lived her early life in Boonsboro. Mrs. McCleaf received her high school diploma while serving in the military. She and her husband of more than 52 years, Mr. William C. "Bill" McCleaf, were married on Sept.
