BOONSBORO - A Boonsboro woman and her five children were reported missing Thursday by the woman's estranged husband, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. Katherine Willard, 49, of 20502 Wilderness Run Road, and the children - ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old - were last seen at a court proceeding June 30, deputies said. The last known contact made with Willard was by telephone July 1, deputies said. The woman is described as white, with blond hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.

There's something to be said for not wasting a second chance. Christian Lopez of Martinsburg, W.Va., knows that all too well as he basked in the glory of making it to the next phase of “American Idol” during the infamous Hollywood Week, which aired Wednesday and Thursday nights. But Christian's journey ended this week when he was cut from the Thursday night elimination round. “I have absolutely no regrets,” Christian, 17, said during a telephone interview from his home.

A 15-year-old Hagerstown boy was reported missing Monday at about 5 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff's Department said. Blaine Edward Snyder was last seen in his bedroom at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release. Blaine was described as white with blondish brown hair and blue eyes, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Department at 301-791-3020.

Hagerstown City Police are looking for a 23-year-old Pennsylvania man for outstanding warrants on a bad check and failure to appear for a court date in Washington County. Austin Elmer Gladhill III was last known to reside on North Church Street in Waynesboro, Pa., police said. He is described as white, 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information on Gladhill's whereabouts may call police at 301-790-3700.

Waynesboro police were looking or a 14-year-old runaway who was last seen at 7 a.m. Friday. Savannah Marie Smith is a white girl with blond hair and blue eyes, police said in a news release. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 130 pounds. Police said she was last seen wearing blue jeans; pink, black and white Van sneakers; and a gray sweatshirt. She has a piercing below her lower lip, police said. Police said she may be in Hagerstown. Anyone with information is asked to call 717-762-2131 or any other police agency.

Hagerstown Police are searching for a man who robbed Freddie's Subs at gunpoint Saturday, the department said in a news release. The man walked into the sub shop at 520 Park Lane at about 6:40 p.m. Saturday, showed a handgun and demanded money, police said. The man then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, police said. No one was injured in the incident. Police described the suspect as a white man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, with light blue eyes. He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and a gray bandanna, police said.

Yin and his sister Fauna were abandoned by their family when the family moved out of state. A neighbor found the two cats and brought them to the Humane Society of Washington County. Yin is a male with beige and chocolate hair. Fauna is a female and has cream and gray hair. Both are Siamese with blue eyes. They both like to snuggle. SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are looking for two boys, age 13 and 15, who escaped from the Vision Quest detention center early Thursday. At 12:30 a.m., the youths ran away from counselors at the center. The 13-year-old is described as white, 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds with crew cut style hair. He was last seen wearing dark blue sweat pants and sweat shirt and tennis shoes. The 15-year-old is described as white, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, with blue eyes and close-cut brown hair.
