MAY 19, 1994-MAY 23, 2010 Josh Forsythe, 16, of Hagerstown, was called home to be with his Savior Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Sinai Hospital after a two-year battle with Ewing's sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. He was born May 19, 1994, at Washington County Hospital, the son of Ann Forsythe Crist and Scott Andrew Crist. He was a sophomore at Williamsport High School and a member of the Blue Band. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Hagerstown.

The Williamsport High School Blue Band Boosters will hold a money bonanza Friday, May 21, at the Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown. It is open to anyone 21 and older. Tickets cost $35 per couple, which includes dinner, soda, dessert, beer on tap and a chance to win money. The first and every 10th ticket drawn will win $35. The last drawing will be for $1,000. There will be a cash bar, drawings, raffles, 50/50 and tip jars. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6. The annual Blue Band spring concert will be Thursday, May 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Williamsport High School auditorium at 5 S. Clifton Drive in Williamsport. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $2 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased from any Blue Band member or at the door. During the concert, Robert Stike, the band director, and the WHS Wind Ensemble will play a piece in the concert to promote cancer awareness. The band will also be collecting free-will donations to assist the Josh Forsythe family.

Western Sizzlin' restaurant and the Williamsport Blue Band Boosters invite the public to this month's Blue Band Night on Wednesday, April 21. The restaurant is at 17567 York Road in Halfway. The restaurant will give credit for any orders placed with a flier that day. All money raised will be used to pay for the band's uniforms. WHS choral group hosts holiday dinner, concert On Saturday, Dec. 5, the WHS Choral Department will host its annual holiday dinner and concert at Williamsport High School. A dinner of turkey with whipped potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sauerkraut, peas, cranberry sauce and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream will be served. Also included will be iced tea, lemonade and coffee. A concession table will be open before the show selling cookies, candies and other goodies.

The Williamsport Blue Band will hold a fundraiser Wednesday night at the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Wesel Boulevard in Hagerstown. The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Let the restaurant know you read about the fundraiser in the newspaper, and Chick-fil-A will donate a portion of your bill to the Blue Band. The Williamsport High School Blue Band would like to thank its director, parents, families, Boosters and the community at large for their continued support during the marching band season. The Blue Band is honored to be invited to two championships this weekend. On Saturday, the band will participate in the U.S. Scholastic Band Association's National Championships at the U.S. Naval Academy Stadium in Annapolis. On Sunday, the band will travel to Hershey, Pa., to participate in the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships at Hersheypark Arena.

A scarecrow-making activity will be available, along with pumpkin painting, balloon animals, hayrides, tractor barrel rides, a petting zoo, face painting and more. WILLIAMSPORT --Â The Williamsport Blue Band will hold its annual Tag Day Saturday, starting at approximately 9 a.m. Band members, dressed in their band T-shirts, will go door to door to collect donations. Due to the size of the attendance area, band members might not make it to every home. Those whose homes are missed but who want to donate may mail donations to Williamsport Blue Band Boosters, P.O.
